Yeah decent defender when he does not let his mind wander lol, was great for us in his first spell, then came back and was not so good don't think he really wanted to be with us, got sent off against Celtic and that was pretty much the end for him, but seems like he has done well in Greece.

He is very good and i think that his deffense style really goes with Scotish and British football! For my team (which is nowhere near the quality of any premiere league team) he was great! i hope he does well to liverpool as well even though i dont support this team :-)

The Ireland vs France game should be replayed.....

Ferrarichamp
20th November 2009, 15:10
Ireland vs France...

I agree with Roy Keane. Ireland had loads of chances but only scored once.
I don't understand it really, how can professional players miss so many chances?
As for Henry, yes he's a cheat, but many players cheat.
A replay at this stage would be wrong IMHO.

ek583
20th November 2009, 15:49
Ireland may have missed a lot of chances, but at least they were good enough to create those chances in the first place! How many chances did France create throughout the game? Whatever anyone says, the Irish were the better side in that game.

It is hard to argue at this point if a replay would be right or not, but just imagine if things had gone the other way round... if Robbie Keane had been the culprit of the handball and if Ireland had gone through to the World Cup booting out France, would FIFA still be the way they are now?

But of course, the reality is that (once again) the big team won and the underdogs lost (however unfairly). And who is going to part with the underdogs?

I am genuinely gutted for the Irish.

Actually I was suprised that a Romanian side could do such a great result, I don`t rate the Romanian football league so much because there are too many controversies surrounding some big teams.

Chelsea didn`t reach the 2008 Champions League Final because of a "sugar daddy buying it" :-)

Edit: There are a few good Romanian teams ( I`d say Unirea Urziceni and CFR Cluj) but the level in an European game ( Champions League or the UEFA Cup/ Europa League) is different compared to a game in Romania:-)

Greig

Course they did, Chelsea were a average team until the sugar daddy arrived, they never won nothing and were going nowhere, how many millons are they in debt? something like 700 million? shocking really, sadly when the money falls out of the EPL then teams like Chelsea will probably be no more.

Chelsea had some good results even before the Roman era ( for example, they won the title in 1955 and won a few FA Cups as well- a very memorable one is considered the 1997 Final). Money, unfortunately is a big factor in modern football, for most ( if not all) the teams. Just look at the ridiculous amount of money Real Madrid paid for Ronaldo this summer. Shocking.

I say the season is ours to lose now! We're still playing Chelsea at Old Trafford, and if (I know this is a big if, but still) we can win all the remaining league games this season, no matter what happens to Chelsea or Arsenal, United will win the league. So COME ON UNITED!!! :-D

m schumy

We`re out of the Champions League so we can focus on the League now ;-) Mourinho got his tactics right- he`s a really good manager ( and the Inter players sure knew how to dive nicely :lol)
Inter were the better team and this is why they beat us. It sure isn`t so terrible as last year`s farce when a certain Ovrebo decided who would get the place in the final;-)

Greig
17th March 2010, 21:57
Maybe they learned from Drogba and Ballack etc etc :-D Chelsea never seem to get beat fair and square though :-)

The league does not seem to satisfy Roman though....wonder if he will give up chasing the dream and leave Chelsea in a worse mess than Portsmouth...

I`ve been his fan for eight years now and I`ve never seen him dive. Drogba does some dives sometimes, I don`t like it when he does that at all.

Mister Graham Poll lol....I don`t mind the press, they hate him anyway as they hate most of the Chelsea players :-D
Other fine examples are the Terry and Ashley Cole scandals, it`s not good what they did but it is their private life, the press made a big scandal out of it although it`s quite clear that footballers are not like monks so such things can happen. Then there was the handshake 'incident' (or the lack of it) between Terry and Bridge. Just a big mess. I don`t even bother reading too much about what the press writes Chelsea- related, the recent stories just made me have enough. There`s just one real fact: Inter were the better team last night and Mourinho proved he is a good manager. End of story.
By the way I`ve just read that John Terry hit a Chelsea security guard with his car and broke his leg, he`ll be on the front pages tomorrow....

I've got a feeling that Ancelotti will be on his way at the end of the season. Didn't Abramovich sack Mourinho because he had failed to bring home the coveted Champions League? And whose team do they go out to this year? :-D

Sugar daddy sure won't be happy! ;-) :-D

I don`t believe what the press is 'reporting' about Ancelotti getting sacked if he fails to win anything. But there is a chance though given the past record....

Chelsea need a pretty much whole new team, they are nearly all over 30, will Roman have the money and will to rebuild so much..or give up on his dream. That is the problem with short term thinking and changing manager on a whim, no long term future for the squad.

Still think Arsenal could win it but not sure they have the bottle for it :-D

We didn't deserve to go through on that pathetic performance.
If you want to win a game you must first play football and actually manage the finishing of, in-between the posts and under the crossbar!
And why could crouch finish off like that during the rest of the game, instead of only in extra time after Pompy had scored.
Absolute disgrace!
