Motorcycle racing is a raucous melee of high-revving engines and high-octane exhaust, of screaming spectators and pulsing music. It's a scene that's defined by the senses as much as the race itself.

So when 12 electric motorcycles speed away from the starting line for the first-ever TTXGP North America this Sunday, “it'll be the first time we'll have to ask the fans to be quiet so they can hear the race,” quipped Steve Page.

There was a TTXGP event at the Isle of Mann last year - some of the bikes were really quick and nimble considering that they're about 75% batteries!

One of the reasons I go to Motorsport events is to hear the sound of those machines at work. Curious to know what it would be like without.

I work with a guy who helped design one of the bikes and they're really impressive machines.
