Best F1 Races in the Schumacher Era

During the 2010 F1 Summer Break with no races, i'm trying to find out what everyone thinks are the best races in the Ferrari Shumacher Era so can I can watch something good.

If you have a decent site to download, that would be helpful as well.

Rubens' race in the rain: German GP 2000

Suzuka 2000,2003, Hungary 01, France 02, Monza 2000, 2006, Brazil 2006 France 2004 (4 pitstop magic)

97 and 98 really were classic years in F1, pretty much any race from those years would be worth a watch, 2000 as well, after that it was a bit easy :-D

Just don't mention Jerez 97 :-D

reading this thread has reminded me of just how many great races there were durring the schu/ferrari era. i think i could happily watch any of the mentioned races, i also have a number of them on video, but unfortunaly i no longer have a video player to play them on. it also makes me think of how the sports changed and although the racing is a little closer, it's no were near as good as it used to be, plus the stewards seem to make the rules up as they go along.

Hungary '98 - 20 qualifying esque laps from Schumacher
Silverstone '98 - Schumacher wins in the pitlane
Suzuka 2000 - Schumacher takes the first drivers title for Ferrari since '79
Spa 2000 - Epic battle with Hakkinen and Schumacher and the infamous pass down the Kemmel Straight
Spa 2002 - Schumacher at the peak of his powers
Austria 2003 - Pitstop fire cost him a lot of time, but he still won
Silverstone 2003 - Rubens' great drive from the back in the rain. Amazing battle with Raikkonen
Magny-Cours 2004 - 4 stop strategy to beat Alonso and win
San Marino 2005 - Near race long battle with Alonso
Monaco 2005 - Schumacher drove from the back to finish 7th and overtake Rubens on the final lap
Suzuka 2005 - Great drives from Raikkonen and Alonso - Alonso passed Schumacher in 130r
San Marino 2006 - Virtually the same as Imola 2005 but in reverse. Clever strategy from Schumacher and Brawn kept him ahead of Alonso
Istanbul 2006 - Epic, epic, epic battle with Alonso and Schumacher for the final 20 odd laps. Also Massa's first victory.
Brazil 2006 - Great drive from Schumacher and another win from Massa.

Shanghai 2006- Only bridgestone tire driver to make it in top 10 for qualifying and went to make the entire Renault team/drivers look like fools.

Hungary 2006 was a stunning wet weather drive from Alonso and a great drive from Button too.

China 2006 already mentioned but stunning wet weather drive from Schumacher, the only driver making the Bridgestones work and able to take advantage of the Renault/Alonso misjudgment. Making them look rather foolish and Alonso fans despair at the time!

Brazil 2006 was ridiculous, not his best drive ever, but lets put it this way, he went in the pits for his 1st scheduled stop, was filled up with fuel, then sets a fastest lap on the next proper lap, was nuts, the pass on raikonnen was crazy too, he was left with absolute minimal room and still pulled it off without significant contact.

Italian GP 1998 - a Ferrari 1-2 at Monza :-) Like Greig said, 1998 was fantastic. It's still my favourite ever season (I think!)

All the classics are there on this thread, but one race that sticks in my mind was the one he raced hours after his mother died after a tragic accident. San Marino GP 2003.
He could have not raced, but he knew the team was desperate for the points. He put aside his grief and won the race. How the hell he managed that with the emotion he was going through is a lasting memory of his heyday.



World champion Michael Schumacher, grieving the death of his mother hours earlier, gave Ferrari an emotional first win of the Formula One season at their home track on Sunday. (Results)

The German, wearing a black armband on the victory podium, started the race after dashing with his younger brother Ralf to mother Elisabeth's hospital bedside in Cologne for a final farewell on Saturday evening.

She died on Sunday morning, aged 55.

Schumacher was embraced by Brazilian team mate Rubens Barrichello and kept his race helmet on as he was led away from the finish area by Ferrari team boss Jean Todt, the Frenchman's arm lightly on his shoulder.

It was his 65th career win and Ferrari's 160th.

Schumacher was exempted from post-race ceremonies but he appeared on the podium, fighting back the tears as the German anthem sounded. He did not spray the champagne, which was left unopened by all three drivers.

Todt, who attended the post-race news conference in his driver's place, said the decision over whether to compete had been left to Schumacher.

"I think it was very important. He decided together with his brother yesterday to go to Germany and definitely he felt in a way more comfortable having been there," said the Frenchman.

"Today again Michael has shown the dimension of what he is as a driver and as a man.

"It's a shame sometimes that people may want not to understand what he is. Today I think he has done a big demonstration and we are very proud of him."

i think Ralfie did pretty good race in San Marino aswell, took the lead in the start, but somehow lost it (with pitstops?) and finished 4-th. but a brave drive from them both

thanks for the link, i've just watched germany 00 and loved it. i don't remember much of the actual race, i'll have been 9 at the time, i did however remember the podium celebrations. what an amazing race and an amazing win by rubens.
i just wish that 10 years on we'd had another very emtional brazilian winner in germany, but it wasn't to be.
