Bernie: we will say it's the worlds first F1 dirt track.
Advisor: hmmm ok, but it also has a river
Bernie: so?
Advisor: there's no bridge.
Bernie: first F1 dirt and underwater track. Heck, I even convinced them to race in the desert, twice.

The picture is maybe May or possibly into July. Search Korean GP track images.

Wasn't there talk of Magny-Cours replacing Korea if it was not ready in time a couple of months back? I suppose that won't happen now either

Korea will have their GP in time no worries! To much at stake to goof up me thinks... The photo is an old one I'm sure!

no that isnt an old photo, that is how it looks. F1 magazine has run bit on it this month. I quote little bit from the article....

"As we survey the scene, it's clear how much work is still to be done-and why the Koreans are apprehensive about letting us look around. The actual track is nowhere to be seen, and it takes huge amounts of imagination and direction to quess how the track layout will look. There is no aspalt racetrack to be seen-just dirt tracks."

It isnt looking good or sounding great by reading the whole article. F1 is up against it out there, F1 is less popular than baseball. Cannt see it happening myself, if it do happen, grandstands will be half empty.

Well if what you said and read is true than that is worrying. Sorry, I was sure it was an old photo. I really have to look up things before I open my big mouth... sorry m8

Oh well no Korea GP then... what a nice way to throw taxpayers hard earned money out the window...
Bernie must be happy - he has now room for one more new GP... Russian GP anyone ;-)

I think the first photo leads you to believe the track isnt that far on - but I think we should be ok...

Things tend to get built/constructed very quickly in the east - china/japan etc so cant see korea being too different.

Yeah Zuludemon I know the eastern way of work very well that is why I said it will be done in my first post. If the only thing that is missing is the asphalt than that is no big deal, but with all the rain recently the work had to suffer. So 2 months till the GP and there is still mud on most of the track you can't just pore asphalt on IMHO...

I still have a little hope, for their sake. If they fail someone will get killed...

Aye, they need to make good progress over the next 2 weeks I would say... else they will be in trouble...

from 5livef1 on twitter.... made a few calls, checked a few things out and apparently the Korean Circuit is a lot further on than that pic shows...

but still, they pictures of the grandstand and pit complex. In other picture there is asphalt but only small sector. Im my mind this isnt going to happen, way to behind. Typhoon season set them back by alot. If do happen, hats off to them, still very dodgy. :-??

The Indian track seems to be on time

It's interesting that a country that is getting a lot of help from other countries have the money to build a F1 track and run it. I think it's great for India, I just hope the money is channeled out to the people and not into some massive corporation.

Regarding Korea, I cant find anything out there that shows the track in better pictures. But Korea is in a good financial situation, would just like to see a bit more.

Yup, i am man. And proud to be.
But facts are facts and seeing how CWG is going, my statement shouldnt be so shocking.

Valid fears and concerns. The money will all go into some politicians pockets. Story of our lives here.

I'm thinking about going to this race so I called their support centre (go the number from the official circuit web site) English version of official Korean circuit web site (http://www.koreangp.kr/KAVO_ENG/Circuit/aboutKIC.asp)
They advised the laying of the asphalt is due for completion on Sept 3rd. All finishing touches (landscape and lighting etc) due for completion by early October.
