November 20 will remain a sad day for all supercar (http://www.spyexotics.com/) fans, and especially for Ferrari. It’s the day Sergio Scaglietti, the man that linked his name of one of the Italian exotic car maker – the 612 Scaglietti, died.
Sergio was the founder of Carrozzeria Scaglietti, across the street of Ferrari’s factory in Maranello, in 1951. His company started as an automotive repair shop, but due to the exceptional results it had, they shortly gained Enzo Ferrari’s trust and were in charge of building the bodies of some classical Ferrari models such as the 1957 Testa Rossa and California Spider and the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO.
Ferrari Chairman, Luca di Montezemolo said that “We lost a friend, a travel companion, a man who had his name forever connected to the Prancing Horse. Sergio Scaglietti leaves behind the legacy of an artist who, with his talent, created some of the most beautiful cars of our history. He was a real and natural talent who made cars with his hands and with his eyes, as he liked to say.”
May him rest in peace!
