Hi,

Let me show you the handwork I'm doing on Ferrari
From a raw piece of wood, I carve the car to obtain what you see on the following pictures

F40:

Total work duration for the car is 130 hours

For the moment, I realized 3 Ferrari

The F40 is made from limetree (the 288 in the middle is made of oak, the 288 on the left side is made of badi)

My tools:
- Lots of pictures of the car in order to have a precise idea of the 3D shapes
- Some important views (front, back, profil) with the correct scale
- chisels (I made special tools by grinding to have sharp edges less than 1 mm)
- sand paper (from 60 to 600)
- wax (to give the finished look of the car and to feed the wood) - 4 layers
- and first of all: time lots of time

Each car is really different, for example on the 288, the rear of the car is a mix of curved line in the space. When I had the raw cubic, it was not so easy to remove wood being sure that it wasn't not too much !!
For the F40, the main difficullty I faced to, was to correctly define the front slope of the car with the right location of the headlights (another difficulty was to keep the hollow space under the wing while retaining the massiveness of wood)

When I see all the existing Ferrari, each car will be a new adventure without knowing where will be the difficulties, this is an additionnal motivation to built these cars
