When Felipe Massa had his terrible accident in Hungary the members of thescuderia.net swung into action. We wanted our driver to know that we were thinking of him and wished him all the best. The forum pulled together as one and it was decided we would raise as much money as possible and send Felipe a personalised Brazil football shirt and a book of well wishes, the rest of the money would be donated to worthy charities. ...

    Dear Clair and friends,

I just wanted to send you all a brief message to thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness in this difficult period for Scuderia Ferrari and in particular Felipe. The donations and sentiments that were passed on by yourselves have really meant a lot. It is a great pleasure for me to know that Felipe has touched the hearts of so many people and moved them enough to act in the way that your Forum has done. ...

OK, so following a chat in the Ferrari Dreams thread I thought I would set this thread up for anyone with experieces of visiting Maranello to post and for those wishing to visit to perhaps post questions.

I have been a number of times with my first visit being in 1995 and my most recent a couple of years ago.

First the map I made. I believe this has been put elsewhere in the forum but I figured it made sense to have it here as well. Below is text explaining what you should find at the letters on the map.

    Hey Guys,

Got back from Italy this morning. I've made a detailed guide of travelling, costs, times, accommodation etc. This might come in handy for anyone wanting to plan a trip to the Italian Grand Prix.

    Enjoy.

Not all of this information is applicable in every case. This guide follows how I did everything. Only use the information that is applicable to your case. The Milan>Monza stuff should be applicable to everyone. Obviously if someone was to use the same accommodation as I did, more is applicable.

At the age of 10 Enzo Ferrari attended Coppa Florio, a car race held in Bologna, Italy. That was in1908 and according to his autobiography "My terrible joys" after that event he was pretty much sure of his life occupation. Next crucial moment in times before Scuderia comes after WW I, when Enzo got turned down by Fiat and was only with the help of a friend Ugo Sivocci that he managed to find employment.

The company’s name was CMN, and Enzo was working as a test driver. In those days that meant, that you were supposed to enter as many road races as possible, and of course try and win some of them without getting killed. After several years at CMN Enzo switched to mother of Italian autosport, the fabulous Alfa Romeo. ...

They say you should never meet your heroes, as you will only be disappointed. Nothing ever lives up to the hype. For me it couldnt be further from the truth.

On Friday I was told that the next day, for the princely sum of £20, which would be donated to a charity, I would be getting a ride in a Ferrari F40. Not Just any Ferrari F40, this was an ex Alain Prost Ferrari F40.

The charity event had all sorts of other automotive Exotica - a new Nissan GTR, Lambo's of assorted colours, a Porsche 911 GT3RS, Aston Martins, Ferrari 348 with a straight through Tubi exhaust, Testa Rossa and 550 Maranello, the list went on and on. But there was only one car I was interested in - the one that is single handedly responsible for my obsession with the house of Maranello.

At the end of 1999, the headline was the return of Michael Schumacher. Eddie Irvine was in with a shot at the title but the big news was still Michael and he has not even been in the car since breaking his leg at Silverstone. So when he decided to make his return to racing in Malaysia, the world media descended on Sepang. And Ferrari sponsors took the opportunity to show off Michael in their promotional campaigns. Shell had a big Go-Kart event and Marlboro had a big party at one of the top discothèques in Kuala Lumpur. ...

Well guys, as all of you know I am a Canadian and I was there when Gilles won the Canadian GP in Montreal so please excuse me if I am a bit subjective in my post… But then again, which true Ferrari Fan isn’t when it comes to Gilles?

Montreal GP 1978, with Gilles having done so well in the season so far you all can imagine that all sorts of Canadians had rushed to the circuit. The stands were packed, I spent the whole race either on my dad’s shoulders or standing on the bench with each remark from the radio describing how close Gilles had come to getting off the track. If I ever find out that I can’t have any children, it’s because of the damage that day did to my balls!!! ...
