    Tomorrow the F10s with Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso will start from the second and third grid position into the Bahrain GP: the Ferraristi drove the second (1.54.242) and third fastest time (1.54.608) with 16 and 20 laps respectively. At the end of an intense qualifying session the fastest man on the track was Sebastian Vettel with a lap time of 1.54.101: the German Red Bull driver will start from the pole position into the 2010 Formula 1 Championship’s first race, held at the Sakhir circuit at 3pm local time.

    At the end of the first free practice session at the Sakhir circuit, the Ferrari presented itself with a reasonable result. Despite the still dirty track Fernando Alonso drove the second fastest time in the morning with 1.56.766, and Felipe Massa, fourth with 1.57.055, 18 and 19 laps respectively and two runs on ‘hard’ tyres. The team concentrated on the F10’s behaviour on the Bahrain circuit, which is longer and has a different layout, with an extra section with slower corners than expected. The first session for the Bahrain GP was dominated by the German Force India driver Adrian Sutil 1.56.583, while the third fastest time was driven by the Polish Renault driver Robert Kubica 1.57.041.

    Today marked the end of winter testing in preparation for the Formula 1 World Championship, at the Catalunya Circuit, near Barcelona.

    Having driven the F10 on its track debut in Valencia a month ago, it fell to Felipe Massa to bring Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro’s testing to a close. Today, the Brazilian driver had a packed programme, working on evaluating the handling of the car and the Bridgestone tyres under different fuel loads. Felipe completed a total of 114 laps, the quickest in a time of 1.20.539.

    The penultimate day of testing before the Bahrain Grand Prix was covered in rain, which slowed down the programmes of the eleven teams present today at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona. Just after 10:20am a consistent drizzle started to wet the track and made the work on the track in the morning quite insignificant. In the afternoon some more rain fell, but it wasn’t enough to fit the car with the wets.

    Just like it had happened in Jerez, Felipe Massa, whose work programme was slightly changed, wasn’t very lucky.
