He will be designing a 2026 car
I don't think he said retiring, sure he said taking a bit of a break (gardening leave) but his eyes lit up when asked about the new 2026 regs......
Here is the interview -...
Maybe not :-D
Nice job Charles.
Both Mercs out lol
Sounded very much like he will be back for designing a 2026 car to me. Not sure he made any mention of retiring.
He said it would be announced after the Miami GP that Newey is coming to Ferrari, not that he will join immediately. You know how we announced Lewis a year before he arrives kind of deal?

All the stickers will slow us down :rotfl
Only thing comfirmed is he is leaving RB. But the normally right F1 press is saying he willl come to Ferrari and is negotiating early release from gardening leave. Red Bull said they dont really need...
Yeah that is really horrible.
I note Red Bull's statement makes no mention of any gardening leave.
Soap opera tabloid Eddie guessing.....if he wants to take time out then he has that with 1 year gardening leave. No need to get his lawyers to negotiate an early end to that.
Max will probably be next to leave the sinking Red Bull ship.
Yeah it's confirmed he is leaving now, rather than rumours. Not sure why you found that a struggle.
Probably part of the deal to get working at Ferrari quicker, finish the hypercar then you can go elsewhere. Be great if we get him in early 2025, he will already be having designs for 2026 regs.
I never said he was leaving now, said it was confirmed now he was leaving. Do keep up
You said you do not believe soap opera press......believe it now? He is leaving as they said.
Believe it now? Soap opera press right again.
Confirmed he is leaving now.
Seen some reports Newey's lawyers are negotiating with RB so he can start with a new team in 2025......
Soap opera/tabloid press suggesting he has told Red Bull he is leaving.

Who says he only has to work 50% on the F1 car at Ferrari, you taking giant leaps again?
Wache and Fallows are not in the same league as Newey.
One thing seems clear is that retirement is not his first chain of thought. But you keep making up what you want to believe :-)
