this is very intresting check this....

    Flower Power

When thinking about supercars, one of the last things that spring to mind are their environmental friendliness.

Even though the very low and exclusive production volume of Koenigsegg can hardly be considered to have a measurable impact on the Co2 problem that global society is facing, it is an impressive statement that even a small and extreme company like Koenigsegg can afford to develop environmentally focused solutions.

By following conscientious and forward thinking strategies, Koenigsegg has managed to create the Bio Fuel Powered CCXR with even more spectacular performance than the standard CCX.

These two almost conflicting results are made possible due to the simple fact that the ethanol in biofuel has the positive side effect of cooling the combustion chambers, as well as a higher octane value, well over 100 RON, which gives the high power. Due to the fact that the biofuel has higher octane and cooling characteristics, the power has gone up to 1018 bhp at 7,200 rpm and the torque to 740 lb-ft at 6,100 rpm.

It is natural to expect a substantial gain in power when optimizing the engine for E85(biofuel) instead of Petrol. Still the actual gain obtained even surprised the enthusiastic engineers at Koenigsegg.

Following the long term strategy of Koenigsegg, all previous CCXs will have the possibility to be converted by the factory to accept the biofuel option and reap the performance and environmental benefits of this wonderful and eco friendly fuel.

The CCXR Biofuel upgrade has been developed in-house on the factory’s engine dyno by the skilled technicians at Koenigsegg, led by Christian Koenigsegg, Marco Garver and Anders Hoglund from the Koenigsegg partner company Cargine Engineering.

It looks really nice, althought the 0-60 time isn't that good! It'll never beat the Veyron, nothing will

it won't beat the veyron to 60 because the veyron has all wheel drive. however, it should be able to outrun it once traction is not a problem.

Seems quite silly to me. Theoretically the car should be signficantly faster than the Veyron, but you'd also need to be a race car driver to go past 80% of its potential. What makes the Veyron impressive is its drivability. I know plenty of people that drive 1000 hp cars, so its nothing new, but simple 335/30ZR20 street tires will not hold that power, especially in a 2600 lb car. The Veryon has enormous tires and primarily AWD in a 4200 lb car to keep the power planted. Its 7 speed tranny also keeps from unloading the suspension during shifts which helps traction.

Whether these cars can hit 250 mph or not is rather pointless since 99% of the people will never be able to take the car anywhere remotely close to those speeds, unless they are on a closed race track like Nardo or the Bugatti test track.

very good points SS454 i agree with u, it is highly unlike that someone will drive those cars to the maximum, and even if they want to do it there is nowhere to do it than a race track.

Earlier this year, they had introduced the Koenigsegg CCXR "Edition" model this year in Geneva Motor Show.

Apparently they are going to be going after Veyron's record early next year..Let's see what this "Edition" version is all about. They have only produced 6, and they were sold for 1,300,000 Euros each
