    Ferrari F10 B

A greater diffuser update based on Toyota’s unraced TF110 are reported to be in the pipeline for Valencia.

Ferrari fitted this bulge to the underside of the diffuser the streamline the flow

According to Pascal Vasselon (chassis engineer at Toyota) is the single most aggressive and spectacular views so far, not to say that the TF110 was practically a RBR06. All suspensions, nose, diffuser, exhaust, air box, cooling of the gearbox...

Ferrari earlier in the season he signed a Toyota engineer, Giuseppe Azzollini.

Some photos of the toyota and the diffuser:

Well thats the unraced Toyota...FYI, Ferrari have usually raceed in Rosso Corsa in all races except the last 2 in 1964, the Watkins Glena nd Mexico ones where they ran white with blue stripes...

I hope we simply dont copy updates from other teams....rather comeup with something innovative like the wheel fairings and gill slits...

Wonder if they can run a pullrod suspension...like RBR...

I think they ran with a black nose cone at the Italian GP in 2001 as a mark of respect for the victims of 9/11........?

But back to the topic.........think these new up-dates are the biggest single up-grade Ferrari have introduced for many seasons - I doubt the figures that are being quoted are truely accurate, but I'll take half of them as that will get FA back to being competitive at the front. He had a good race in Canada, so the car isnt far off.........roll on Valencia.

Yes, they ran a black nose with no sponsors in the USGP which was held after 9/11. I think they also ran a car w/o any sponsors and a black nose cone after pope's death on 2003...but the color essentially remained red

I believe the F10 with the F duct is more competitive on low downforce tracks, although a good performance by Alonso was seen at Monaco...

I also hear that they are bringing a pull rod dupension...like the RBR's ..waiting to see pics of the upgraded car

I may be blind, but I don´t see much different on the car. Besides, I thought testing was forbidden?
Is this on "demo-rubber" then or what?

Now I see the exhaust is moved. I thoght the back end would be much slimmer though. But I guess one has to wait for Valencia and some propper photos of the car...

IIRC, a certain number of straight line tests are allowed. Or they can be 'filming' eg. for an advert, and use the car then. I think Nando was filming for the Ferrari website in this case. Also I think Luca Badoer did the same sort of thing before he stood in for Felipe last year - which of course had nothing to do with him needing to get some time in the car before racing

What you can see is a total lack of exhaust exit on the rear bodywork and all the black heat resistant material that surrounds the exhaust exit has gone. Therefore they have to be running the new low down exhaust system.

Also, I believe on promotional runs like this they have to use a control tyre which is different to those they race with.

What design will have become Giuseppe Azzollini for F10b?

I hope it works better and really pushes the envelope of rules and development. I am tired of playing catch up to other teams. I would rather be called in front of the stewards or FIA for pushing the limits of the rules and getting called out on it than I would playing catch up to RB and Macca.

Is it me or does our car sound totally different since we changed our exhaust? All of the in car audio I have heard, our car almost sounds like it has a tin engine. Very weird sounding to me.

I am surely convinced that the F10 is one strong horse...the impact collision by Rubens in Spa did not have much of an external damage...however Alonso reported steering problems.
When Massa hit Lewis, Lewis steering tie rod broke. My question is if we have gone a bit over the limit to build a stiffer car at the compromise of a heavier car?? Given the fact that cars are now heavier than previously...

I'd say it seems to be more like a tank!

It was impressive to see how Alonso managed to continue racing after the heavy impact of Rubens, and also how Hamilton broke that rod while Massa's car had nothing but a scratch. Anyway, I think it's just luck and not that the car is stiffer; Rubens impacted right on the wheel of Alonso's car, it looked like that wheel absorbed all the impact avoiding further damage to the structure (besides the steering problems); Hamilton just steered when he should have not, and considering the low speed at the moment of impact, it's no surprise to me that Massa went out of that incident clean.

I'm pretty sure the weigth of the car is ok, and if Ferrari can have a tank that wins GPs like in Monza, I say "hell yeah!!"
