It's just down to driving style, Alonso has quite an aggressive style - he's always liked throwing the car into the corners. Look at Imola 2005 for a prime example. Our car is pretty easy on its tyres so generating the heat is even more difficult.

the front tyres he has struggled with the most and worst, as they are smaller in width. Plus the compound of the tyres are harder than last years. Bridgestone went conservative, due to last year and didnt want the bad press from tyres lasting 5-15 laps. Felipe went well in testing at begining of year, due to the compounds being soft and super softs.

For some reason the soft and super softs that was used hasnt really had many races where they could of been used. Well they could of but again, Bridgestoine didnt want that massive drop off after say, 10 laps.

According to the recent article in Autosport Massa has only been 0.1% closer to Alonso when using super soft tyres.

There is also a quote from Bridgestone "It's very difficult to explain the time difference in qualifying between Fernando and him," says Hamashima. "Always he complained about tyre temperature or something like that - but I can't understand it. There is nothing I can see. Very sorry, Felipe..."

I guess we will never know the exact truth, I think he is struggling with the tyres but it is being exaggerated by Alonso being a faster driver anyway. Hopefully he won't have problems with the Pirellis next year and we can have two Ferraris consistently at the front.

Ok if we buy the warm up issue, why is he slower throughout the rest of the race also? perhaps eat humble pie fans, he's just not as fast as nando. His engine setting cant be turned down all of the time

Next years car has even less downforce if we buy what the FIA/FOTA are trying to achieve so he'll have even more of an issue (although the pirellis are said to be softer).
