Anyone know how you can get Sky in a different room without having to buy Sky multi-room? I know there is definetly a way I just didn't think I would need it. There's just no way I'm paying for multi-room and watching my bills go "Sky" high.

ah well, internet streaming it will be for me then!
I've just signed off Sky with a big thanks but no thanks; I rarely watch tv anymore, too much brain washing rubbish! (I will miss the docs though).

"I cannot judge what he did in his time at Renault and McLaren but I have worked with World Champions Schumacher, Villeneuve and Raikkonen and Fernando is the one who impresses me the most," said Gene.

I'm just going to get the HD pack - it's an extra £10.25 a month for me, which isn't ideal as I'm scrimping and saving as it is, but I will get £100 of M&S vouchers so that'd keep me in food for weeks

that pays for the ten months HD then can cancel it after F1 finishes.... how do you get the vouchers is there a sky offer on?

£20 for a chicken breast in M&S tho, so weeks of food is maybe stretching it

Yeah if you go to the upgrade to HD page on the Sky website, it says you get the vouchers as long as you activate the HD pack by 31/12/2011.
Could spend it all on booze

Just been looking at our Virgin package, we already have some Sky HD channels, if we want Sky premium HD that would be £7 extra a month and to add Sky Sports 1 and 2 which if Virgin agree a deal I guess thats what will need to be added it will be £22.50 extra a month. Real shame that the F1 channel couldn't be made as an add on by itself.

Nothing's confirm with Virgin yet Sian.

I have the full Sky Sports package with them, and they still can't say for sure if I'll get the channel or not.

So we'll just have to wait and say what sort of deal Virgin announces.

But you don't need any Sky Sports as we have said before.

If they announce it's going to be on Virgin it'll just be paying for the HD or maybe just F1HD alone.

Why not just cancel Virgin and get Sky. It's better.

If it was up to me I would Our Virgin is an all in one tied into our phone and internet and my older brothers as well, it also means I get discounted mobile tarrifs. Yeah I have fingers crossed that for Virgin you get the option of just needing to pay just for the HD.

Does any of the South African members here know how the Sky deal will affect our broadcast on SuperSport? Since we are watching the BBC broadcast at the moment are we going to see the Sky commentary next year or what?

I just wish we're not going to have our own commentating team consisting of Sasha, Vick and Gary... I will kill myself with their Vettel and Lewis obsessions.

Martin Brundle leaves BBC for Sky Sports' Formula 1 coverage from 2012
    Sunday, November 27th 2011, 09:42 GMT

Martin Brundle has confirmed that he will leave the BBC to become part of the Sky Sports Formula 1 broadcast line-up from 2012.

The former F1 racer and Le Mans winner made the announcement in his Sunday Times newspaper column, saying that the fact that Sky will carry the whole season live - while the BBC will only show 10 races live and the rest in delayed highlights programmes - was key in his decision.

"In 2012 I will be working with Sky Sports F1 television," Brundle wrote. "The fact that their newly-announced and dedicated F1 channel will have no in-race advertising was a key factor, but most importantly I need to commentate on every race live. Recorded and delayed sports television doesn't give me the adrenalin fix I crave.

"There will also be more airtime for the technical features I so enjoy crafting. It's been a privilege to be part of the BBC team, but now I have a new motivation and challenge."

Brundle moved into television commentary after his F1 career ended in 1997, initially with ITV before switching across to the BBC when it reclaimed the rights from 2009. This season he became lead commentator for the first time.

He also announced earlier this week that he would making a racing return in next year's Le Mans 24 Hours, sharing an LMP2 class Greaves Zytek-Nissan with son Alex.

This is a thread about F1, not about issues in the media.
