    Happy Birthday...

    Forza Gilles.

reminds me. McLaren did this survey on who their most important drivers were. Gilles came in the top 25 i think, even though he only did a test.
Gilles would definitely top any likewise Ferrari list.

    yeah, i was wrong.

One deal for up to five races in a third car during the 1977 season.[14] Villeneuve made his debut at the 1977 British Grand Prix, where he qualified 9th in McLaren's old M23, splitting the regular drivers Hunt and Jochen Mass who were driving newer M26s. In the race he set fifth fastest lap and finished 11th after being delayed for two laps by a faulty temperature gauge
    what blackout?

    Great pics!

I was fortunate enough to see Villeneuve drive and a snap of him and his autograph are prized possessions.

Isnt it wonderful, how few things do stand the test of time, generations, and everchanging ways of the world.
6 victories and every inch of racing behind the wheel of a Ferrari, does stir an emotion that as far as I am aware of, has stood every test thrown at them, only to emerge even more beutifull and out of reach.

Gilles, all in one, nothing short of magic, miracles and stardust from grid to Heaven.

"..baby, baby tell me waht you re after...I dunno, I just want to get there faster..."

Thanks, 27, a thousand times over.

When Gilles was unloading his stuff in the front yard across from his parents , wondering how he was going to make a living and then he gets the call from Maranello
    It was a heartbreaking
Now I ride in the big fine car
    It was mind aching
I'm the talk of the boulevard
So keep your chin up boy
    Forget the pain
    I know you'll make it
    If you try again
    There's no use in quitting
When the world is waiting for you

    4 Ever The Greatest

Before I became a Ferrari fan I became a Gilles Villeneuve fan when I saw him winning the 1981 Monaco Grand Prix.
And then a year later well.....everybody knows who would have been world champion 1982.
Gilles tried to win every corner of every race he started in with a car control never seen since.Gilles was what racing is all about.
Just imagine what he would have achieved in a Ferrari F2002 or F2004.....
Thank you for the great tribute and reminding me why I became a Ferrari fan.
Gilles per sempre , Forza Ferrari !
