Look at the side pods, very similar to ours, but where are the exhausts??
Sorry but don't find it super attractive at all!!!

so obviously this kind of nose is way to go...it must be confirmed on track of course...red fools nose looks more advanced and complex as ours though....
I say bring it on Redcows, we have nothing to be ashamed of when i see their car!! (so far)

Make no mistake, Ferrari's and Red Bulls noses are very different. Red Bulls' nose isn't necessarily the way to go, not imo anyway, both noses probably have different benefits.
As for the rest of the RB, well it looks the same, but what a poor way of revealing your car, that has got to be the worse presentation I've seen all year, very poor.
Anyway now to see if we can get a clear shot of their exhausts!

Beautiful. This is one of the most beautiful, We are so proud of you Fernando, So proud of you & the team- Andrea Stella, Malaysian GP 2012
It looks like we are the only one pushing the boundaries so far this season, as Jose-Lorca said nothing too new with the rest of the RB8, strange I recall some people saying that Newey was going back to the drawing boards for their 2012 defender as he had to start from scratch, well not really!!! It just remain to see where they are placing their exhausts?

RB8 nose, better to say step looks more stylized than ours. But on the other hand, maybe we as McLaren didn't show everything we got!?
So far nothing out of the box from Adrian "EBD" Newey

about the exhaust, its because of the pic that i see in the new car,and for the redbull nose,is that illegal, because of that hole, and other guys here have an idea about this and they tell it that its illegal putting hole in nose so thats why ferrari done that ugly nose so they are wait to others because of legality
redbull again the problem of other team is there solution to win again nose that step with exit on it maybe thats f-duct front wing
So apparently the exhaust is plced just above the 'R' of the Red Bull logo towards the rear of the sidepod. Similar philosophy to McLaren then.
Also reports stating that the Red Bull nose has some sort of air inlet on the step.
Can someone correct me but weren't V shaped noses banned? I know the lotus has a U still one and so does the Force India, but it seems like the RB have a V shape ???

What's that thing in the Red Bull's nose bump?
Looks like some hole to me?
Without any hole, its going to trap air in it. It certainly suggest that RB has some kind of opening there to channel the air somewhere![]()
Looking at the Red Bull for the first time and I am NOT impressed at all. I think everybody will show simillar solutions at the first testing session. We will most likely see the final configurations toward the end of the test sessions. Right now the Ferrari F2012 seems to more developed than the other cars I have seen. I think McLaren and Lotus seem to have displayed the least developed race cars for the moment. McLaren certainly could be just sandbagging and not showing much at all. As for Red Bull, their car seerms to be a developmen t of the RB7, nothing real ground breaking or special at the moment. Ferrari must push, push, push and bring all their updates and developments to the table ASAP. The Floor and Undertray are key to the downforce issue. I trust heavily in Rory Bryne and Nicolas Tombzis. They are reaching very far for an Extreme Race Car.
Ciao.

The 2011 RB7 had a wide slotted inlet at the bottom of the front bulkhead, this year an opening above it, positive pressure in the cockpit?BBC F1 analyst Gary Anderson says hole in Red Bull nose looks like a duct. But is it for cooling (Kers perhaps) or aerodynamics?
Cars are already starting to look different:

I liked that video, tho I'm not sure what they were presenting there :), RB brand?
Anyway their car is as ugly as always, not sure how could hey make fun of Ferrari, while their car is just as bad looking :). Guess, as somebody already said, Redbull is being classless.

We need a top view comparison of RB and Ferrari F2012 for the rear section![]()
in the exhaust exit they put it on the center, not like ferrari in the wheel duct i believe they do 2 sets of exhaust exit i hope im true because they try to balance the exhaust blown i think
hey guys,
can anyone confirm that redbull too have front pull rod suspension???
Nope push rod.
Hero's come and go, but legends never die!
yup it's push rod just like last year and all the other cars.
Can someone please tell me if off throttle blowing has been banned?
"The client is not always right." - Enzo Ferrari
the vent at the front of the car reduces the turbulent air being thrown up by the nose step. ferrari may have missed a trick in this regardthough i like my idea that our enormous step increases downforce.
Yes, the engine mapping is now restricted so you can't throttle the engine above a certain limit when the driver is off the peddle.
Indeed it looks like Red Bull have found an idea regarding the nose bump that other teams haven't thought of yet.... unless Ferrari is hiding something![]()
Thanks hornet.
Ok so it seems that off throttle blowing/engine mapping, call it what you want, is limited to 20%. That's cool, seems like Ferrari won't have the worries they had last year.....hopefully.

red bull could be trying to get the air that hits our bump underneath their car ?
Life might be hard, Concrete is a lot harder
LOL, Ferrari haven't missed anything here regarding the Red Bull Cut Out bulkhead section. Ferrari certainly could go that route as long as they do not have anything in that raised section. Lotus have scooped out the transition section which again is an option if there is nothing in the raised section at the leading edge of the bulkheak area. I see nothing revolutionary about the Red Bull front end and steped area. No real big gain to be had with the Red Bull Cut out. Please remember that ALL of the cars we are seeing are just for public viewing at this time and not the full race versions. Many parts will change including the front nose treatment on many cars. People should not make such strong opinions of the race cars at this time.
Ciao.
