im thinking of that too that the exhaust pipe is position it the center of the rear wing center hole

I definitely think the diameter is bigger than the exhaust diameter. The center exit is just for the 3rd radiator that they used for making the sidepods smaller i think but i also thought that we are channeling the hot air from sidepods too

14:56 Red Bull looks good again in the technical sections - Webber records the highest top speed of any car today through sector two.

Did you expect that they will be slow? We have to wait till 2014 and hope Newey will ***** up from the start.

System checks and verification anaysis done with no issues encountered. Rest of the day would be used for data gathering, that is in mid and long stints mainly. Disregard times as noone is giving it a real go on the first day.

And also i think that it is not allowed to use bodywork to direct the exhaust gasses for aero gain so that would make it illegal unless there is a loophole of course

So we need to hibernate for 2 years & wake up in 2014, right?

And I never said that they are slow or fast, it was just an observation that they do look good, how good? time will tell

One hopes the FIA doesn't make a last minute decision. They are pretty good at changing their minds out of the blue

That said, I really wish Ferrari could keep its innovation for once. Even if it means the world will end on Dec 21st. Ferrari seems to get things banned faster than other team

I didn't mean to offend you in any way. I was just pesimistic. I don't believe, that RedBull can make any mistake with that great basis they have since 2009.

Even if Red Bull can't make mistakes this year, lets back our team to beat them. Stay optimistic

Well thats it for day 1. I think since its the first time these new cars are running, naturally there's nothing much to see.

I think the only thing worth noting from today is this
Trackside news from @StrangAutosport: "Kimi looking super smooth into final corner. Button and Webber running together - both cars already looking planted under braking"
Though that's probably to be expected of the top teams.

There must be a loophole in the rules that allows more than 2 elements in the rear wing in that outer area. I count 4 elements.

My guess is the version without the exposed tip was attempting to blow the rear brake duct fins. This second version looks to blow the beam wing.
