Is Lotus Renault coming year champion?

Last year Rubens topped the times sheet in his Williams at the end of testing in Jerez. Everyone knows what they did in the season. Does this tell you anything?

I was reacting mostly to this sentece: Lotus isn´t cruisin for sure, but to be faster than last year already sets the bar quite high for the others that are supposed to be even quicker.

And taking in to acount that their will be no blown diffusers and so on. For a team that is supposed to be further back than the "top four" it´s quite impressive. Thats all. I didn´t think they would find so much time for this year.

Williams didn't have blown diff back then (I am pretty sure). Williams was one of the slowest cars and it still made the fastet time overall. The point of it is that we are not able to read anything from the tests. Not even when someone is 3 seconds ahead of everyone else.

The only thing that we can confirm is that we are not going for fast times and most likely this whole day will be for calibrations and some basic testing.Maybe tommorow we will see some faster times

I am sorry, but do you understand what I am saying? "The point of it is that we are not able to read anything from the tests." In the 2009 there was so many factors playing for Brawn (completely new regulations, they were developing the car for 2 years,...) and even then we could't be sure, if they are not playing tricks. Look at 2011 where we were so good in the test and what happened. And what about McLaren? You are unable to read anything from the tests, that was all I wanted to say.

Pretty much confirms that we calibrating and testing reliability first. People need to relax a bit...lol
