Why on earth should Felipe be given any slack? Ferrari are in the sport to win and Felipe is just a liability. I have to admit that my opinion is somewhat based on the way Kimi was treated, by the team and some Tifosis as well. I donīt understand why the same, almost loathing, does not apply now when Felipe is just awful. I donīt believe that anyone on the grid couldīve qualied lower than 17th today with F2012.

Vettel : It was close between Nico and myself which was the only one we were battling with in Q3 unfortunately, the rest seemed too far away and we didn't have the speed of the car.

    This is great news

so much for the difference in top speed between the FAMOUS DDRS or SUPER drs mercedes have and FERRARI....not much difference after all

did we improve our top speed??? it seems like we did, NO???

but those LOTUS cars have MIGHTY impressive trap speeds; we're gonna have to make some good places at the start and STAY away from the in the DRS zone...
So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.

better TOP speed, hence better Q1...we better hope we're ahead of them by a few good place positions during the race, because they'll easily overtake us in the DRS zone

Alonso: "(Our) target is to improve our quali position". I think it's fair to say that Alonso has done so. ( I don't know what's going on with Felipe).

OK you can say that JB, MW, SV, NR etc had bad days at the office or poor tactics, but no-one's been saying that about us recently when they've been ahead of us. They just take the credit.

I've always loved Fernando's response to winning the 2005 WDC; "It may be luck that I've sometimes benefitted from others' misfortune, but it's not luck that I'm always in a position to do so". And that's exactly what he did today anad whilst we wait to hear what Pat Fry and other team members have to say about the 3rd place I'd guess they'll see it as a sign that there have been improvements to the car and maybe, just maybe, the fight is really on.

Alonso, who was driving a car with a large number of upgrades, added: "We did a step forward, I don't know how much because I think P3 is over-performing.

I will reserve my judgment of Massa after the race. If the car is improved and with the way we have fast starts and extra sets of tires for him.. He should make it stick.
    we're number one

there you go, so in fact we DID NOT improve that much as we all FANS may have thought, it was just Alonso's magic as usual in front of his home fans...

Yeah I think Ferrari has about 206 poles. Come back then Macca
Anyways, yeah Fernando was faster than both lotus in 2nd sector, and especially 3rd sector.
Times there were consistently good, and I think that is the traction sector. Has traction improved a lot then?

Yes it has, now our main focus should be getting the top speed higher, reason why we were not so good in 1st sector

Alonso-"Obviously for us it was even impossible to dream about being in top three the first four races. We just arrived in Q3 with not new sets [of tyres] left, so definitely it's a step forward.

Massa, Webber, Button, all down to tire strategy, nothing more..they are all good drivers.
I do think the upgrades are headed the right way, FA didnt look to be fighting the car as he has in past races,
and all of his sector times are good. I mean, cmon..he was going for pole when b4 this he was lucky to make Q3.
Amazing the difference in the 2 compounds...I mean, they are miles apart.
