tbh the porsche 918 spyder is very cool, and has some clever technologies to make it very fuel efficient in city driving and can go on pure ev for 30 km but it is way too heavy

About weight they say here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWvMIJkip7E that the new LaFerrari is 20% lighter than Enzo.
And according to wikipedia here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enzo_Ferrari_(automobile) Enzo Ferrari is 1365kg.
    So....
    20% of 1365kg=273kg.
    1365kg-273kg=1092kg.
So the new Ferrari LaFerrari(150) should weigh about 1092kg!
That is almost 1THOUSAND HORSEPOWER per TON!!!

    EDIT: Horsepower per ton=horsepower:weight
    888HP/ton=963:1092
NOTE:This only works when the Stig is at the wheel cause he weighs 0kg and makes no odds.
    or Alonso does his magic!

Actually, to that 1092Kg you must add the driver, so that makes about 1200 for a large driver. If you only count the V12, you get about 666 HP/ton (evil ). If, however, you also count the electric motor, you get close to 800 HP/ton.

Either way, that's quite something considering how lightweight it is.

EDIT: But even so, the trademark of the Ferrari is always how it drives, and I reckon the LaFerrari is top notch. Certainly much better than the McPrius P1 (LOL, now I know what the P stands for).

EDIT: They tested the McPrius on Top Gear America and pitted against a stock car (those awful NASCAR-mobiles) and the driver on that throught the trunk of the McPrius opened when that huge spoiler (if you can call it that) opened. Ridiculous.

you got that wrong, only the carbon tub is 20% lighter than the one on the enzo.they gave out a 1250 kg dry weight(without oil, lubrication and other fluids)so kerb weight around 1300 kg.Very impressive for a hybrid car.(the hybrid system weighs in at 140 kg)

Compared to this beast P1 looks like a child toy. Such a masterpiece

    Almost 1000hp on 1200kg?!! Spectacular!

I can't believe that the Ferrari ups the McLaren on most of those stats. Very impressive as the McLaren is quite an engineering feat.

Oh my god this a "chef d’œuvre" indeed. Mesmerizing

Resembles F50 quite a bit...which I LOVE and a bit of F40 and F60. Pretty amazing how they've sort of combined them all together and take it to another level, at least 10 years ahead of its time.

Beautiful car, shockingly unimaginative name, would've thought the collective minds at Maranello could've thought of something better, LaFerrari just sounds like a French girl not an Italian Prancing Horse...!

Yeah, the name is a bit floppy. A lot of people on the internet are already calling it "laferrari F150". I think that sounds quite good, and will be driving Ford bonkers

Just call it LaFerrari. It is the ultimate Ferrari and the name is therefore appropriate.
