Newey describe the track has having lots slow traction. This is our weakness, similar to Monaco.

Hopefully things get better in Silverstone where its more similar to Barcelona.

acceleration out of slow corners is problem for us, but with hot and more aero races we should be much better. and we had lot of luck today with hamilton touching Fred's tyres.

German Sky reporter: Vettel now has 35 points more than Alonso

hä? Vettel = 132, Alonso = 96 ... for me its 36 ... anyone else the same opinion???

Normally I would celebrate this 2nd place ... but after the whole weekend and also not yet forgotten Monaco ... I can't ...
this gap to Vettel and RBs is too much ... way too much ... And Vettel was able to cruise in the end of the race ... so the real gap is higher ... 2 sec. gap to Hamilton after 1st lap ... I don't get it ...

Maybe I can get a bit of Fernando's optimism as he never gives up ...

Is fernando 's last stint bcoz of increasing track temps suiting out car or did he suddenly generate a new gear?

Fantastic race by both drivers, but I can't feel happy at all, Vettel is running away with it. We need to react.

Coming up we have Silverstone and Germany, high downforce track especially Silverstone, so hopefully Alonso can win here and close the gap. Hungary, yeah traction will be a problem. Then Belgium, another very high downforce track.

So I think for throughout the remaining European campaign, we may be able to close the gap down by the end of it, and they can duke it out in Asia.

Assuming nothing bad happens like DNF or Pirelli changing the tires of course .

I think this was a very good race for us, but Vettel and RBR are performing very consistent, like we last year but with a better car, we have had bad luck and made perhaps some mistakes, perhaps their time will come perhaps not.. But, apart from Monaco our races were very good, Malaysia and Bahrain were just bad luck, so in the end, I think, for sure it's a pitty, but were not that bad, the thing is, RBR has been lucky with weather last two qualies, if Vettel starts from the front he can win, unless Kimi or Fernando are in front.. Alonso is not in decline.. And Felipe is a great driver, he has always been like this, fast and agressive but with mistakes, that's Felipe, but he is so determined.. If you lissen to Button after a hard race, he's really depressing...

Well I suppose thats the best alonso could do,so congrats to the team,I'm particularly happy for massa,he drove very well and overtaking Kimi at the end without drs was great

Vettel is pulling away, that guys luck also is unbelievable! He more than just brushed the wall of champions and got away with it!, well if we keep qualifying like this and vettel at the front,it will be almost impossible to win under normal circumstances..let's wait and see..3 weeks is really long till the next race!!

it seems track temps, look for comparison fernando and vettel , i m sorry i just got lap time from 17th lap,

    or

maybe teams didnt know how long medium tyre will be live on 2nd stint, so based on 2nd stint 30 laps , teams clear that fernando can push on last stint,

We need to try to keep this going, these kind of races (apart from Monaco), then were there, if Vettel has problem we're there.. If he doesn't get problem, and he keeps performing constant, well yeah, then we can't do much, but this kind of performance was the reason we were in the championship last year so..

i say that if Vettel wins WDC again this year, it would be harder for me to watch it than watching Schumi picking wins like mushrooms after the rain. after more than 13 years of activly watching f1, i am ready to give up

I hope next race will be good for us, that we break the pattern of good-bad-good ....

Sadly all those races have a high probability of rain and Spa is cold even without it. After what wassaid this weekend about low temps and rain not suiting our car, I am not confident at all.

Can not agree ... as it absolutely depends on the weather. And Silverstone, Spa etc. isn't really known for perfect weather. Also Hungary isn't a guarantee for good conditions as seen in last years.

If we don't get the issue solved to bring intermeds and wets to work champion ship is over again ...

You have to bear in mind, that Vettel wasn't pushing from the half of the race or so, while Alonso was racing hard for possitions. I am sure Vettel could go way way faster.

You're correct, but nevertheless, we can do a good race.. For us it's important Vettel can't start from pole

...and that is what worries me the most. Half a race SV was just cruising. When needed he pulled FL just like that!

But in all of these races our qualy has to be equally good which is unlikely as there might be rain at most of them.

I do think we were at par with Vettel in terms of race pace. Had it not been a wet qualifying, who knows we could have even challenged him.

Vettel wasn't really cruising at the end. The lock ups and brushes to me showed he was pushing. Fernando had to contend with overtaking other cars. Just at the end of the first lap he was 6 second down on the lead. So factor that in, and I think he was at par with Vettel on race pace if not better.

As for whether track temperature caused that drop in lap times? I would rather put it on fuel loads. Even Webber was going fast and he was already having heat issues earlier.

As we saw today, our Quali spot doesn't matter. Even if Alonso started 2nd I don't think we could have gotten a better result. The Red Bull, as it has been since the end of 2009, is the best car on the grid.

Well I have to some what agree, this year the weather in Europe has been lots of rain and cold weather not seen in many many years ,so if we struggle in these conditions,we are in big trouble!!

yeah, thats what worries me too!!eveyone is talking abt the nature of the upcoming tracks, but forgetting that if we cant get heat in those tyres,no matter how much our car is suited to the track,we will be in a lot of trouble.....and to be honest, seeing the kinda weather surprises the next few races have a habit of throwing up,i dont see us catching vettel .....atleast in 5-6 races' time,,,,,
