Meanwhile, Vettel sets two purple sectors, but loses time in the final sector and ends up three tenths slower than his best.
it looks like we have problems with the last sector
05:12
Hang on, hang on...
Sebastian Vettel has just lowered his personal benchmark by over half a second and gone quickest overall with a lap of 1:22.791
To put that lap in context, the fastest time in Barcelona testing twelve months ago was a 1:22.765 by Kimi Raikkonen!
And he's staying quick: Seb's next lap is a 1:23.011.
Confirmation, meanwhile, from trackside that the Ferrari is currently on medium tyres
Ferrari looks handy in the last sector!
some worries
1. Pictures of Arrivabene in deep conversation with Simone Resta and D. Sanchez(probably)! Looks quite tense!
2. Ferrari with monkey seat at the back
3.Loosing time in slow section of the last sector, which was weak point for last few year's cars
F1 show biz 2016 :
Toto - "Ferrari are a real threat" .... Nico - "Awesome, everything is just awesome" .....Lulu - "Mental strength man, lifestyle man, I'll drive at 400% as ever man".... and then suddenly a wild Bull out of nowhere slams into a Ferrari.
Day One Timesheet (11.16am UK Time): 1) Sebastian Vettel, Ferrari, 42 laps; 1:22.791; 2) Valtteri Bottas, Mercedes, 59 laps, 1:23.169; 3) Sergio Perez, Force India, 28 laps, 1:23.835; 4) Felipe Massa, Williams, 20 laps, 1:25.956; 5) Nico Hulkenberg, Renault, 22 laps, 1:26.319; 6) Carlos Sainz, Toro Rosso, 11 laps, 1:26.726; 7) Marcus Ericsson, Sauber, 23 laps, 1:27.710; 8) Daniel Ricciardo, Red Bull, 4 laps, 1:28.712; 9) Kevin Magnussen, Haas, 7 laps, No time; 10) Fernando Alonso, McLaren, 1 lap, No time;
Fastest lap for Vettel..Now let rack up more laps
#PrayforMH370 #KeepFightingSchumi
Now it's just Vettel out on circuit, the German has just completed his 47th lap of the day - 12 behind Bottas in the lap count stakes.
Slow corner problem again?
#PrayforMH370 #KeepFightingSchumi
Don't know if true. Craig Slater on skysports just said the following:
He has heard reports from Maranello about serious misgivings from the rear end and they are working hard to find some kind of resolution.
Not sure what that means tbh?
Vettel back in the garage on 49 laps, Bottas has just hit 60 - only six shy of a race distance here at Catalunya.
Merc gone out of softs ..
05:33
Bottas is coming back out as we wind down towards lunchtime. In case you've forgotten: the session will be red-flagged for an hour from 12pm UK time to allow the field - and some hungry reporters - to get some grub.
It will then resume at 1pm and run until 5pm.
so far so good, i'm liking what i'm seeing so far specially vettel posting the fastest time in MEDIUM tires as compared to bottas in the SOFT!
Forza Ferrari
unless mercs are sandbagging again.
Forza Ferrari
The tyres seems ok this year ?!
The tyres seems ok this year ?!
Vettel back it, not hing some laps before lunch. I hope after lunch we do similar amounts of laps as Mercs would have Hamilton, chances are he would try to get a race distance under his belt
