"If he can't do it with Ferrari, well, he can't do it." - John Surtees
well hey are on medium tyres... and definitely not showing full pace...the car could go 3 seconds faster with softer tyres even with a underfired engine...so time is not bad i gues..
I think we shouldn't compare the times that have been set as of yet, with the fastest times from last year.
1. It is still cold.
2. The track is green.
3. Those are new cars and no one is running full crank yet.
What is interesting and somewhat relevant thing is that we already have times that are faster than the fastest one set on the first day of testing last year.

Confirmation of a sensor problem on the RB13...

Problems for McLaren?
We've only had a single lap for Fernando Alonso so far - the fewest by any driver - and we're hearing that there is an oil leak preventing the team from getting back on track.
nice to see we're racking up a lot of laps.
Forza Ferrari
Yes, nice to see we are getting some laps under our belt. The more data the better at this stageq. McLaren have a oil problem which will take several hours due to the location of the issue
Have to say it's looking good, we have a decent number of laps and the times look promising too.
I can't shake the feeling that we will hear some sour grapes from Ted/Scrabs etc though ;)

Force India and Sergio Perez have the track to themselves as we approach the end of the second hour, with the Mexican moving into third with a best time so far of 1:26.171.
Finally action has started
Guys, where do you look for the times and number of laps?
Vettel on track now.....

let's see how Seb reacts to Bottas setting the fastest lap.

Just 0.190 seconds separate Mercedes and Ferrari at the top of the charts as Bottas replaces Vettel at the summit with a lap of 1:23.370.
Bottas on soft tyres though

Vettel did set a 'purple' middle sector but backed off in the other two sectors.

we need a lot of milage on the new engine. Haas isn't doing much.

Were we expecting faster times so far? Given the morning chill, the choice of tyres and the acclimatization process all the teams and drivers are currently locked in, it's been pretty fast so far - but not spectacularly so

Steady timesheet improvement for Williams so far, with the retired-unretired Felipe Massa back into third with a best lap so far of 1:25.956.

Confirmation from Mercedes - and picture evidence below - that Bottas was on the soft tyres when he set his pacesetting 1:23.370 time. The Finn is now lapping in the low 1:24s having hit 35 laps for the day so far.
