    Ferrari good on every compound!!!....mostly the mediums too since we now have analysis for tyre strategy which plagued us at some GP's last year due to testing in the US/SS tyres last year.

    New fastest sector two of the year so far from Raikkonen. It's A 1:18.911 from the Finn on ultrasoft tyres - only the second lap we've seen in the 1:18s but not good enough to topple his previous benchmark

    Interesting to note that after Raikkonen set his fastest lap, he stuck around on track for a little bit, suggesting the car wasn't extremely light on fuel.

    Merc engine got heavier
    Merc gearbox got heavier ("12cm longer" plus changes to pass the rear crash test)

    Heavier engine = less ballast for balancing the car.

    i hope we didn't turn the engine to full power & add fuel to that as well. I think with all these variables, we can extract .5 further coming to race.

    But the growing feeling within F1 is that Ferrari may start the season with a genuinely competitive car for the first time since 2008"

    If ferrari start as favourites, then they should maintain that lead/gap through excellent in-season development. Else
    Mercs who caught james into their pocket & RB with Newey anytime can catch our lead.

    Wasn't it the same Andrew Benson who yesterday declared that Ferrari is still 0.5 behind Merc given the historical fuel loads

    McLaren are sabotaging the engine. They realise it's not competitive and they're trying to bully and embarrass Honda into quitting so they can get another engine.
    Nobody wants to make an engine for McLaren so they're stuck with Honda and can't fire them. But if Honda quit they can have the sport step in an force somebody to supply them.
    Honda can't find the mystery electrical gremlin because it's literally just being turned off.

    On the other side, i have a doubt.
    If ferrari believe they have the pace in them, why they are revealing now by ranking up high 1.18's & low 1.19's, where other teams like mercs & RB aren't too much interested in showing up the pace.

    By doing so, they are once again pushing the others in making statements 'like ferrari is the team to beat as the same way in 2016'.

    We're just testing, and those are the times that came out of that part of the test. We've no way of knowing if that was our 100% or if there's more to come. Same for the other teams.
