    Shanghai weather for today...hourly

    https://weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/l/CHXX0116:1:CH

looks to be an interesting race.....wet then the track might possibly dry up so tyre strat will be important. By the way, I believe HEINEKEN is the main sponsor of this race.

Can someone just clarify the rules on wet starts? I read somewhere if the race starts behind the safety car then they will line up in grid formation once it is dry enough and the SC has pitted. Is this correct then we have a chance of jumping HAM

What's different for F1 2017: Standing starts in wet races
Even if a rain-affected race starts behind the Safety Car, the race director now has the option to line the field back up on the grid for a normal standing start once conditions have sufficiently improved, rather than initiating a rolling getaway as has hitherto been the case.

That only doesn't apply if the race has been red-flagged after the initial Safety Car-controlled laps.

Come on Ferrari! 5:30am, already punped, what's the weather predictions? I just read that Ferrari were slow during the last corner. I hope Vet takes over Hamster early on and controls the race

I think Vettel just took the last corner easier and didn't want to push too much as he seen what happened to GIO and GRO.

The rain will also wash away Lewis Hamilton's advantage from starting from the ' clean side'.

Just checked with my mate in Shanghai... it's drizzling right now so no heavy rain. I guess it will be a damp start with drying conditions.

Wtever it is, it should be grid start rather than SC start.

Usually, pole position has the clean side of the track. I'm not sure if this track has a diagonal line as drivers move from the right to the left to ready themselves for turn 1.

I don't think anyone knows if the undercut or overcut has the advantage at this circuit due to the limited running. It will be an interesting race

Good to hear. Would love to see a wet race, as long as there is a race going on.

I have a feeling Bottas will not be allowed to take the challenge to LH even if he is in good position to win some races, hopefully Kimi get's his understeer problem sorted asap and Ferrari developments/upgrades keeps up with Mercs & RB later in the year. Not a lot of rain just drizzles on track >.< . i hope we don't get a safety car start

It may be we could start off on a wet track and as the race goes on they kick up alot of spray and mid-race or 3/4 of the race we start seeing a dry line???? so yeah, tyre strat. will be important.
