Formula 1 could be in wet Chinese Grand Prix weekend with rain forecast for Friday’s practices and Sunday’s 56-lap race.

Although one day of pre-season testing was set aside for wet running, not all the drivers have experienced this year’s machinery in the wet.

    That could change this Friday.

Rain is forecast throughout Friday’s running at the Shanghai International circuit with a high of just 18’C.

It will dry out on Saturday before the rain returns to the track on Sunday morning.

With a high of only 15’C, showers are expected prior to the race but could abate before the formation lap gets underway.

However, with more rain forecast for the early evening, the Chinese Grand Prix could yet start or finish on a wet track.

I would still think the Mercs will lock out the front row with us taking the second row. We need to be smarter in the race like in OZ.
If it rains though, every site is saying we have a huge advantage. Lets wait and see. Could be an exciting race.
Would love to see Kimi show some life though.

Many sites saying Ferrari will struggle in china, Merc's still favőürítés.
If it's wet race (most likely), then ferrari will have advantage in race as they have done wet track testing conducted by pirelli. Which other teams, opted to stay inside away from track.

i don't have answer for that. But that's my question too.
few are suggesting based on track temp, as it's cooler conditions & others are saying track is front-end limited & fast corners, where mercs have edge over ferrari. This is what they say.

It should be the opposite, this year's car is more likely suited to the shanghai circuit rather than melbourne

Marko : Unfortunately, we are currently number three in all of these areas, which makes it difficult,” he said referring to ‘top performance, energy use, consumption and drivability’.
“The Mercedes package is simply superior in all areas, only in the top performance is Ferrari close. They [Mercedes] still hit five tenths – even if Lauda says there are only three.”

I really hope we have a winning car on Sunday again. Aus shouldn't be just a once off. And it would be great if we had a one two if it is not to much to hope for.

I doubt 1-2 finish if it's wet race because of Kimi's skills in wet conditions.

    Whaaaaaat?!

The Iceman may even win on Sunday. I don't think Kimi will just roll over and play dead.

Kimi is still Kimi, you never know with him. He tends to surprise from time to time.

It could be. However i prefer Kimi staying. Don't know how much healthy it will be with Alonso and Seb in the team. Besides, i don't know if Alonso would want to come back after so much doubt in Ferrari all these years.

By the way, any streams for FP1?

red flag....The medical helicopter is unable to operate, seemingly because the cloud cover is very low.
