VB has a better start than both SV and KR....he takes the slipstream of Vettels car and uses it to his advantage. Vettel had an okay start but bogged down on it slightly.
Vet & bottas are on clean side. Vet couldn't take that as advantage bottas did

We need some improvement in this area, so that we can split mercs if we don't have pole position.

The only reason he lost the lead was because of the massive straight into the first corner. His start wasn't that bad and at any other track he would have kept the lead.

Renault engine update which was scheduled for Canada put on hold, not good for Red Bull as I read somewhere it is worth several tenths.

So at Sochi pole position isn't that important ?? Best chance to be is at 2nd row

See DRic interview as he recently said I'm not expecting any big miracle to find that chunk of lap time. If we get closer that's fine we can have a crack at mercs & Ferrari.
Also he's not denying switch to Ferrari rumours

I didn't say it wasn't important. I said the long straight allowed Bottas to overtake him before the first corner. Mercedes had more speed than us. If the straight was shorter, Bottas would not have been able to gain as much speed as he needed to pass Vettel. Don't know how you concluded pole is not important from what I said.

Why do you say that? I think more than ever we are in for pole positions now. Merc seem shaken by the Ferrari challenge and until they find their feet again, we can steal pole.
    Silently, like a shadow

Ofcourse we have closed the gap. But in Russian gp we got the pole position due to US where we extracted much from it and no warm up issues. Where as mercs suffered getting the tyres into operating window. But still bottas came close to ferraris.
Also if u look at one lap pace on SS, both mercs were ahead.
So mercs will still b fav.'s for pole in barcelona.

Kimi was a bit slow again in Russia, I think if he had pulled closer to Vettel in Russia Vettel would have stayed in front of Bottas and Bottas would not have passed him on the left if Kimi pulled to the right of Vettel. Ferrari los the race from the start.

You can't blame only Kimi though. Seb was passed as well. They bought had a weaker start compared to Bottas. Nevertheless, Bottas' start was insane.

I just some pictures of the upgrades RB brought in Spain and it looks like nothing too radical really, it doesn't look like a new car at all. Maybe RB13.1 but not RB14.

Massa said that he is 100% sure Kimi will work for Seb till the end of the season no matter how well he performs. Let's see if Merc will do the same with their drivers.
