    Gp3 & F2 races were held
Gp3 Barcelona race won by 2nd place driver. Pole sitter lost his place.
F2: won by pole sitter. Interesting he lost the lead at start to 2nd place driver. but he cut back around turn1 to regain his place.

On both the above occasions 1st position driver lost to 2nd. So it will b interesting tomorrow for f1.

In my view if he wants to win 3rd title. He should go Renault, mercs or Ferrari.
Or if he wants only to finish top 5 places then mclaren-mercs is best for him. He can see retirement over there itself.

Not RB... engine supplier team in place of palmer.
If Renault gets their act n compete with RB. Then RB will be out of f1.

I think we sacrificed s3 for s1& s2 sectors. Above speed trap indicates that way.

This is simple logic...no need to crystal balls
RB made fun of Renault in 2014-15.
Now Renault team is getting their act right by making good progress chassis wise.
So if they are in winning position for 3rd place WCC championship why would they give full power to RB?

RB threw the Renault PU under the bus...not the Renault team....I think thats what you mean. Nonetheless, I get your point IF Renault ups their game....interesting

I think he will find a better seat elsewhere IF one is avaliable otherwise he will stay with Mclaren.

he is mad at himself. He had pole as he said. The small lock-up cost him according to him.

May b tyres didn't last enough, as he extracted much from it in s1&s2

Such a small margin, that anything would have been enough to have made a difference, and missing out on most of FP3 was pretty much the key factor in missing pole. The extra running time would have been pivotal in dialling-in both the car and the driver. Anyway, the weekend is not over, and it would be nice to see the start go our way for a change :)

No way Renault can win a title before 2020. They just don't invest enough resources at the moment. If Alonso wants to win a title, it's either Ferrari, Mercedes or supposedly Red Bull. No way on earth Red Bull will sign him knowing they are only interested in their drivers from the academy. So, that leaves Ferrari or Merc. We will see, but i doubt either us or Merc will want him. So, announcing his retirement at the end of this season is a big possibility. Let's wait and see.

As for Red Bull leaving F1 in the near future, it's pretty much possible. However, i think they won't go down without a fight. They will do everything to bring another engine manufacturer to F1 to partner with them. To do this, they will argue for more simple engines for 2020 and beyond. If this fails, then they will most probably quit.

As for McLaren they are in huge problems if they go back with Mercedes engines. They are going to be a customer team...horrible for them, really.

1:19.172 was the best sectors put together for Vettel. Massive disparity between the Mercs and the others in sec' 3, and Max is ahead of both Ferraris there as well. But it's qualy and not the race. Let's see how the tyre degradation pans out, just like we saw it in Melb.

I would be feeling more comfortable with softer compounds here but let's wait and see. This track is hard on the tires anyway. Mercedes are not that faster in S3 though, Seb just locked the wheel on the last chicane.
