Ham is the only threat for vet & kimi. So Ferrari needs special from both drivers to out qualify ham.

Kimi is flying here, his previous record in Spa sure counts for something. Maybe Merc are sandbagging and will turn their engines up for qualy, but we still look pretty good. I think it will be closer than what we anticipated.

Lauda says lets wait and see for qualifying, when questioned about mercs sandbagging lauda says everyone can find a bit of engine speed but its going to be closer than (silverstone???) i think

Lauda says he hopes kimi is faster than vettel

He gave a pretty OK statement by my standards. Said no reason for Seb to leave Ferrari when he is winning and the car is competitive.

I'm' talking race pace, merc still might have the edge in quali when they turn the engine up. In the race however they will not be running with the engine turned up every lap

Probably waited to see how these developements bits worked at Spa to see whether Ferrari can really develop a car through the season before annouching. As the bits seem to be working he has faith in the team?

Bottas is struggling with the balance of the car, turning up the engine will just exacerbate the issue if the set up is not fine tuned.

If Ferrari introduces new (4th) ICE it has to confirm to the changes announced in the regulations at that moment. Merc apparantly has bypassed that by introducing there last engine already now, which ofcourse means Mercs can't make other changes unless for reliability or by taking penalty
