McLaren confirms Canadian businessman Michael Latifi as its new shareholder - father of Force India's reserve Nicholas Latifi - following the departure of Ron Dennis. I see a big "sausage" fest between Lawrence and Michael as in who's the better driver??? the Stroller or Latifi. My bets on Latifi.

Latifi does not have a superlicence to race in F1. There are also rumours that Hartley's STR seat is under threat and Monaco could be his last race. With Wehrlein contracted with Mercedes, there are speculations who will replace him - Kubica is mentioned from time to time and Rosenqvist has also came up. Robert was a bit of a Monaco specialist, drove flawless race in 2008 and only SC helped Lewis get back to the race. His 2010 lap in a Renault is considered as all-time great as well.

There are also reports tyres will named as hard (red), medium (yellow) and soft (white) for each race next year regardless of what compound they would bring. Finally some common sense prevailed.

Also Honda favourite son Marc Marquez (MotoGP rider) is going to test Red Bull at Spielberg in the summer, along with his motorcycle team-mate Dani Pedrosa.

Bernie, dont buy it yet, just wait till the value drops a bit, then buy it and then double it!
WOW. how stupid is that guy, to buy a F1 sanctioned series, race car series, with a long heritage, and make it only about glamour? I mean, guess he missed the bits, the red, silver, orange, pink, red/white, yellow/black bits that goes around the tracks! All this technology, he think technology is magic? That all these teams just one day, went to a party and they had an all out orgy and just got all these plans, details and knowledge and all other details, out of the blue?
    How stupid can they get.

As much as people criticize Bernie, at the least he was about making the sport appealing to auto racing fans. His idea may be insane, but his intentions were at the right place.

Hollywood companies are different, they have different priorities and means of achieving it. Just look at all the reality TV shows from Hollywood, this won't end well for F1.

No matter who is in charge, if there's more races, that's less winter break time! Bernie was famous for getting countries to hold F1 races where the general population had to ask; Formula who ?

Clarity in the oil consumption dispute

    Nobody tricks with the oil

Finally, there is clarity in the dispute over oil consumption. At the request of Mercedes, the FIA has specified what they mean by the limited to 0.6 liters per 100 kilometers of oil consumption. This includes all the oil, including the one used in the turbocharger.

It was just a suspicion. The smoking Ferrari engines made the competition suspicious. Was everything right there, or did Ferrari find a way around the oil consumption limit of 0.6 liters per 100 kilometers? And if so, how? The engine engineers racked their brains on how to outsmart Article 20 of the Technical Regulations. Until one had the idea, one could press the oil into the combustion chambers via a "leaky" gasket in the turbocharger's supercharger, but not count it for consumption because the turbocharger is by definition not an engine.

On May 14, Mercedes sent a request to the FIA. The engine engineers in Brixworth wanted to know if the oil consumed in the turbocharger counts to 0.6 liters. And if so, would the combined consumption of lubricant in the engine and turbocharger have to be counted towards consumption limits?

The turbocharger is part of the engine

The answer from Charlie Whiting came immediately. In a circular letter to the four engine manufacturers, the FIA race director made it clear that all oils used in the drive unit fall under Article 20. From the point of view of the World Association, the turbocharger is the engine. Accordingly, the oil burned in the internal combustion engine and the turbocharger must be included in the total consumption.

The shot of Mercedes was obviously directed against Ferrari. But he missed his goal. We hear from circles of the FIA that none of the four engine manufacturers have to rebuild their oil system or the turbocharger. If someone had tricked in this area, he would have had to modify his turbocharger with immediate effect. Neither of the controls found a separate oil circuit for the turbocharger. This is the topic of the table. The battery affair, however, is still smoldering. But it should clarify the course of the weekend.

Sooooo in short, Our car passed the oil test suspicion from Mercedes!!!!

Always felt a love/hate kind of vibe towards Bernie. Ever since these Liberty guys took over, well, it's rather a hate/loath vibe. Anything little good thing they might have done is just a diversion from fundamental changes they want to foist onto the fans.

As for those so called "reality" shows, the only real thing about them is possibly the actors names & I wouldn't even bet money on that as a fact!

Liberty is a group, Bernie kept it all $$ for himself. I'll never get over Bernie letting the Indy Race end after 7 yrs. The George family that owns Indy had as much $$ power as Bernie . All about money, and fans , well too bad. Most people in the US knew what F1 was and the track filled with 150,000 fans +.
The races are still great, and I can't wait to see Max in action @ Monaco ! Pirrelli needs another tire co to compete with in F1.

..."Pirrelli needs another tire co to compete with in F1"... yes we saw how well the competition with Michelin went....

Pirelli is not the villain here... it's the FIA continually changing the parameters of what THEY want the tyres to do....

Good for her and her 15 minutes of fame. That's all she is going to get.
Kimi has already sued her for blackmailing/extortion and personal harassment.

reporter: “Max why do you have so many accidents?”
Max: “I don’t know. Like I said at the start of this press conferenceI get really tired of the questions, I think if I get a few more I will headbutt someone.”

    @JamesGallowayF1

Daniel Ricciardo says ‘currently no penalty’ at #CanadianGP. Will assess in practice tomorrow - can use previous MGU-K.

Just a little confusion after Adrian Newey’s comments to contrary at start of week!

Yeah, kill all classic venues and create celebrity races ala Monaco. I hope Ferrari won't turn around for long if it goes that way for good and we have 15 Monacos.

The new American owners will, I fear, turn F1 into some sort of motorised WWF or whatever that rubbish is called. Then the only manufacturers even remotely interested will be makers of clown road cars like Citroen..

I second that! It will be just like WWE! I cant believe people believe that crap, scripted show! HAH! Americans sure knows how to destroy any good thing with money and profit, and the world want to keep following them even when they know what US does. Anway, when F1 goes down that road, I stop watching, even now, I watch F1 only because of Ferrari. I lost the enthusiasm I had few years ago, now its a little less, and I am sure I am not the only one. The only other racing series worth watching is LeMans and some of the GT racing. Hope Ferrari will go back to LeMans, build a fast car and win it for 5 or 6 years in a row!

Really??? Now I don't live in the European Community but from what I hear, the EC along with euro manufacturers and the FIA want to phase out the ICE engine....completely!!!!...in the next 20 or so years and go fully electric (see where this is going in F1 with regards to euro manufacturers...it's morphing into formula eeeeeeuuuuwwww!!).

At least back here in the states we have: drag racing (in all classes-->pro stock, funny car etc), high speed motor boat racing in Miami, motor boat racing ala drag strip, monster trucks, motorcross, etc, etc. --> all having nothing to do with full efficiency, reliability or being green. These sports have one purpose in mind....going fast!!!! And for those that want to come see....bring some ear plugs cuz it's loud too.

Now Liberty I admit is changing the show of what once was the Bernie era of F1 whom "raped and pilaged" the venues for money...alot of money and he got mega rich by doing it!! Not bad for someone who used to be a car salesman in my book.....I would have done the same thing. But in the same aspect, it's euro manufacturers whom have leverage in F1 along with the FIA (based in the EC) who want to change "the car" and dictate to people how they should pick one without the people giving them a choice (which you might have to pay a hefty premium to own a vehicle that is naturally aspirated and drive it on European roads in the next 10 to 20 years).

My interest have wondered over last 10-20 years away from F1, now all Endurance racing. Plus, being friends with many of the GT drivers and team members, or i text/wattsapp 3-4 times a week, depending on their training or travel. This has made me feel more part of the "family" and hightened my love for endurance especially GTE.

Ferrari, have been at the ACO/FIA meetings about the future LMP rules. From what i heard, the regs may go to LMGTP. Car based on hyper cars, like the FXX. So imagine an FXX EVO on Le-Mans steriods. Oh baby.

Europe is old and dying. To much control and rules that favor the elite class. There is nothing good in sports in Europe except soccer. It is not the liberty fall but FIA that dictate tbe show. If it was for Americans they would like to have it the way that will please all, but the European sytem is not letting them.
