Wow mcmowers really pumping in the laps.....and fastest time, NOT that it means anything as it’s JUST testing
So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.

    Vettel: Mercedes are favourites.

Is he admitting defeat already, being realistic or keeping Ferrari's cards close to his chest?

They look quick, but that's not new. Hopefully we get to see some performance later today from Seb.

Well vet did a 1:20:1 and Ric also in the 1st day.Not a trully eye catching time. All top 3 teams can do better on mediums. We cant say who's fastest right now.
Last year it was the opposite, we where doing equal or faster laps on harder tires. And when the season begun they where fastest, by a bit,but fastest. Maybe this year will be the opposite!!!
    FERRARI FOR EVER !!!!!!!

He's not wrong though all the pressure is on Mercedes they had the fastest and most reliable car last year and arguably the best driver in Hamilton so the expectation is for them to continue that this season.

Exactly, nobody is really showing up their cards just yet....even at the end of testing next week, final day we still won’t see teams pushing flat out for that quali lap simulation....if anyone thinks that any team will be doing that before OZ are quite dillusional

I’ve noticed Vettel always overshoot in turn 1 whereas others are doing the same line. I think Vettel was up on something and maybe trying to find the limits of different braking point on turn in but he looks confident. He never locks up the front though!

In 2.5 days of winter testing, and I’m sure no one knows what pecking order is, Vettel is indeed right, Mercedes are favourites ‘at this moment’. Things could look different in Melbourne

Forget about Lewis Hamilton's 1:19.753 time. It doesn't count.

@autosportlive Ferrari looks to be setting up its pit gantry - maybe some pitstop practice is on the plan before Vettel goes home. We sometimes see race simulations from the most-prepared teams at test one, although with 1h51m left on the clock time is probably too tight to start one now.

And now Mad Max has caused a red flag so that is probably any chance of a race simulation gone.

Well of course Seb will say that Merc are favorites. They won last years championship after all. So, according to the bookies, Merc are favorites indeed
    But that doesn't mean anything...

I think we should all put a small bet on Merc winning again this year. Maybe this collective action will be enough to jinx them

We are either sandbagging or Merc are just on another level. Dont have same confidence as I had last year.
