So that's five teams now in the 1:18s for the first six and a bit days of 2018 winter testing.

As it happens, they are also the five teams favourite with the bookies in the Constructors' Championship betting.

Vettel with a clear lift as he crosses the line on that last lap, meaning he doesn't improve. The Ferrari driver was doing that last year to mask some of the true performance of the Ferrari over one lap...

Vettel was clearly off the throttle when he crossed the start-finish line on both those quick laps we saw. Clearly Ferrari is holding something back, so those are impressive lap times to be setting

I think it is still coming from the car, they are pumping it out of the garage so the mechanics don't get smoked out. FIA went into check the garages yesterday because of teh smoke, so maybe they asked Ferrari to do so?

Negative mate, lewis and ric were on hypersoft tyres yesterday. US are slower, soo that means a lot.

A 1:18.079 (Ultrasoft tyres) from Seb was set on a 7 lap stint, and I found even more good news, look bellow.

Vettel was clearly off the throttle when he crossed the start-finish line on both those quick laps we saw. Clearly Ferrari is holding something back, so those are impressive lap times to be setting.

Ferrari looks ominous.

Yeah definitely holding back. on that 18.0 lap he did fastest sectors 1 and 2 but didn't even get close to his best in sector 3, so on the ultras he would probably been able to dip to the 1.17's I think

I think you are confused with my post. I’m saying Vettel set his lap time 1.18.0 on US (which is like SS last year) & ric on hyper softs (which is like US last year).

Also Vettel was lifting on main straight. So there’s still much needed pace on that lap or tyres.
