I have a gut feeling Ferrari will finally do well in Austria this year (it's Bahrain up in the mountains). We saw some flashes last year. I'm not holding my breath this weekend though. I just hope the "unknown" factor can help us at Paul Ricard. Maybe some mistakes from Merc here and there. Fingers crossed. Although if they do have a problem with their engine upgrade then great.

I am hoping Paul Ricard turns out to be Singapore esque for Vettel, would be great if he feels one with the car and track. If that happens then no chance for Mercedes regardless of their engine upgrade, even in Spain where Ferrari struggled in race, Vettel actually did very well in qualifying just 1 and a half tenth off pole on harder tyre. If Ferrari thinks pole could be possible, you can count on Vettel producing another sublime qualifying lap.

Qualche dato sul @PaulRicardTrack: circuito da medio carico aero, severo per l'impianto frenante, mediamente severo per il motore (66% FG) e il cambio. 100 kg di benzina. 10 CV ➟ 0.19 sec, 10 kg ➟ 0.23 sec.
Some data on @PaulRicardTrack: Circuit of medium load Aero, severe for the braking system, moderately severe for the engine (66% FG) and the gearbox. 100 kg of petrol. 10 HP ➟ 0.19 sec, 10 kg ➟ 0.23 sec.
fuel weight and Hp affects lap times highly here if this data is correct , how much more HP do you think mercs will add on their new engine? 10-20 range?

I say 200 at the very least. I think we're doomed. Roll on 2019

Tobi from AMuS said that It would be surprising if Mercedes wouldn‘t use the new PU (Spec 2). Though apparently the new PU isn‘t much of a improvement in terms of power compared to PU1.

AMuS: "The improvement of the new PU is apparently not that big."

Vettel: We found what made us so uncompetitive in Spain. The problem was not the new tyre, but how we prepared our car for them. We were wrong. That makes me confident that when we use these stiffer tyres again, we'll know what to do.

^^^^^ New rear suspension that was introduced for this new tyre at Spain is the most likely candidate.^^^^

Anything else spotted for ferrari besides the modified less aggressive suspension?, only managed to see seb's car being pushed by mechanics but nothing visibly new on it at the moment, saw some pics of mercs new cooling and front wing so far

Been looking for ferrari news or updates from the track, nothing new picked up yet besides rumors of the modified suspension. still hoping we have some more. supposedly ferrari's new pu on seb's car is worth 5hp+ more than the previous.

mercs brought lotta small updates so far if anyone is interested

mercs new engine supposed to have an increase of around 10HP+ as they had to resort to more reliability over performance that they were planning

here's one redbull update one i think

Well ,amus said that there is probably no extra power on Merc new pu. Rumours are just rumours. Remember rumour said early on that our new pu could be worth 15 to 20 hp and ib the end its 5 (if anyone truly knows). So dont just read numbers. The real thing is the performance in the track and there it can affected from lot of different things (track layout , tire management, set up ,efficiency etc)
