I have just seen a video on Facebook of Charles being interviewed in Italian, he is not only a great driver but a great linguist and his perfect Italian will stand him in excellent stead at Ferrari. Impressive young man!

Grande Wisepie I see Charles as a very humble, polite, and talented young man who will do us proud next year.
Living in Monaco he will probably be multi lingual

Multi lingual; just like here in the Bronx! Monaco, Bronx , very similar! A great future ahead for Charles driving up front in one of "The Cars!" I wish him a very safe and winning future. Remember now he will be the one that's most hunted by the rest!

I hope Leclerc proves to be as good as Max. I believe Max right now, only one in F1 who can beat Hamilton (If both have equal machinery).

I couldn't agree more! And Lewis also knows it.

Agreed, although I hope he will prove to be like Max but with far more finesse and dignity!

I can only hope Ferrari is not banking on the fact that Leclerc is such a gentleman and will move over for Seb without question, and not put up a fight on the track against Seb if we fans are lucky enough to see both Ferrari drivers fighting for a win in first, second place. I'm all for WCC first and foremost; but Charles' success from from his start to now in F-1 should be enough to give him the shot @ #1 driver. Being polite during interviews and a gentleman towards your team mate and another driver when you the driver and the fans know you should have been the winner or on the podium is a tough act indeed. Like it or not in R Bulls case Max fought his way to be the driver he turned out to be at 21yrs. old. I wish Charles the same success.

There's an element of truth in what you say about Max, Brembo, and let's hope that both of our drivers will be as forceful and focused as Max is but without his arrogance!

I for one would gladly accept the arrogance displayed by Vettle during his R Bull years, here now at Ferrari. His constant finger in the air and so on. Michael was no angel either , nor Lewis for that matter. Max did a great job this past season. I would rather use the word "Pride" in their accomplishments; rather than arrogance. Making a F-1 race exciting for us fans is something to be proud of. Max's driving esp. this second half helped me make it through some terrible Ferrari results. Watching Seb just didn't do it. 2019 can't come soon enough!

I'd be happy to see Seb's finger in the air as often as possible at Ferrari but you can imagine what I thought of it when he was at Red Bull!! I could have told him where to shove it! Max may well cause excitement when he races but that is not acceptable when he's attacking one of our boys, even you must see that, Brembo?! Seb did a lot of good drives through the field this season after various early brain-fade moments, that is more exciting to me than seeing Max knobbling some other poor unfortunate, unless it was Hamilton, which I'd have thanked him for! So Forza Charles and Seb for 2019, we will be on our guard against Max, for sure! Auguri di Buon Natale e Buon Anno 2019 per noi tutti, salute e cin cin!

    Moi aussi Wisepie
I like Charles and admire his politeness and manners but with his helmet on he can be just as feisty as Max. I think you don't need to arrogantly push other drivers off the track to succeed. Charles had no problem showing more experienced drivers a clean pair of heels while driving at Sauber. Let's hope he makes that red car sing and we see the Ferrari new boy constantly on the podium.
Let Max stay where he is......he's more suited to the drinks company,

    Happy Christmas everyone

At the end of the 2019 season, you Verstappen-adoring false Ferrari fans will be saying "Max who?"

Wisepie; I do see what your saying. Watching Michael and his antics on the track got him to be where he was, a champion. Max has yet to push another driver almost into a wall for no good reason "ala Schumy! " Willing to thank max if he did Lewis in is just how I feel about driving to win. Indirectly we kind of agree that winning is where it's at. If it's Ferrari ! Seb has had and will still get a chance to wave his finger while with Ferrari, I just at some point wish that opportunity on the 21 yr. old boy; Max!

Couldn't have put it better myself, racingbradley, and add Seb into the equation and we'll be ecstatic, with Kimi and Antonio along for the ride, too. What a new year's resolution that would be.

OK with me, I just think someone really tough is needed up front to stop F-1 from continuing as Merc Lewis Inc. Your impression of Charles has him as just to easy going to move Merc out of the way at any cost. And I believe it's Max that Lewis fears most up front, and that alone can cause Lewis a Seb like year in 2019!

I believe that RBR will not be fighting for wins in the first half of the season. It would surprise me if they do.

I'm pretty sure Max puts the fear of God into most other drivers, so hopefully Lewis will be his main target, and it wouldn't surprise me if RB/Honda provide him with the necessary equipment.

They have that Honda engine to sort out and Horner is not exactly pleased by the aero changes for 2019.

What your saying is Horner is already on the case with any aero changes. I can't imagine or hope not; that R Bull will send the likes of Max out with less than he had in 2018. Either Seb or Charles on pole and then 2sec. out in 1st place with Max and Lewis side by side behind Ferrari or farther back! Even the Legend bum Todt won't be any FIA help to Merc!! Who knows? Maybe Sauber will be in the mix!

I never trust other team principals when they downplay their chances, and that Honda engine has already improved significantly. I'm just being wary of what could happen to our own chances!

At this point I believe Renault PU is still faster. Furthermore even though they know it all from TR, they still have to do the fitting and that may require some changes from last year's car layout. I am sure they have sorted it out, but it remains to be seen if it affects speed in any way. Actually Christian just said that the changes are bad for F1, in translation in how we know Horner it means it doesn't help them. New rules have made aero more simpler and rigid, which eats away into their aero advantage over other teams. It will get worse for them in 2021, at least thats what specialists say. As long as Ferrari, Mercedes and their close teams decide to vote it more and more to an engine formula rather than aero, RBR will be powerless until the Honda engine doesn't come close to the top ones.

So say I on that one Wisepie and what we have to remember about RB is they have Adrian Newey. They may have a few gremlins for the first few races but Adrian always finds a way around problems.......I wish we could get him!!!!
I'm still hoping that our wee red car will be a race winner straight out of the box and Seb and Charles will push each other to the two top steps.
Kimi will occupy the 3rd step with Gio just behind him.
I'm not really interested in the rest unless Haas boys take 5th & 6th
I've always loved fairy stories but hope at least some of this happens!!!!
Then I would like Reno to beat the Bulls mainly because Riccardo is there!!!!!
Oh my I forgot about Merc where did I get to the first 8 places have gone!!!!!!!
    I can dream can't I?????

The bit in bold is a gross simplification.

The reason why Red Bull aren't keen on next year's regs are because it will be very difficult to make the high rake philosophy work with next year's front wings.
