That's why qualifying will be so crucial around here. We need both cars infront of both Mercs. The probable SC/VSC also has to come at the exact right time. Could be one-stoppers instead of two-stoppers because of that.

I believe Singapore has had an SC/VSC since its inception since 2008.

We have two sets of softs (one for each driver). No running on them as of now, right? Maybe Kimi should ge out and try it just to get some data.

Two SC's in the race could swap it back to two-stoppers though.

Also, what if they red flag the race at some point because of a crash? Will that bring out the first standing restart or is that still not in the rules. That's should have been done in Baku after Grosjean's error.

“Vettel opens up the gap at the front with a 1:38.054. That's an improvement of around 1.958s. That was an impressive lap.”

“Back to that Vettel lap - it looked very well hooked up. Despite his errors and the pressure I think it's going to take something special to deny him pole later today. Verstappen is out, on the soft tyre, but we might start to see some quick times from the Red Bull now.”

It will take something incredible to beat Vettel-Ferrari combo today.

Never seen a more slower lap than that, 1.38 only? Hamilton or Alonso or half a dozen other drivers would have done a mid 1.36 in that Ferrari. Vettel must go!

Hamilton to Mercedes: "I can't gain four tenths in that first sector". That's about the time he lost to Vettel on that most recent run.

The best conclusion we can hope for is Ferrari 1-2, with Vettel winning and Lewis most likely will be after Ferrari taking 3rd.
This way, we can cut the gap by 1/3

Red Bull 1.1-1.2 sec behind Ferrari...I guess they're gonna blame the engine again.

Newey looked really puzzled in the garage. Very unlike him.

No. Italy strategy once again from them probably. Keep Bottas out as much as possible, to slow down the Ferraris for Hamilton

Very disappointed with RB..!! Thought they would outqualify mercs. But it doesn’t look like that.
It’s ferrari pole to loose. Good from kimi.

I want RB to pick up their pace. Problem with them is, they are unable to switch on HS.

We heard Verstappen complaining about intermittent engine problems earlier, while they also opted to do their laps while the track was at its busiest.... but replays of Verstappen's lap show it was just scrappy throughout.

Seb is special around here, the gap might be smaller but it will take something big to deny him pole around here.
