Once again we seem to have real problems with tyre degradation on the hypers and I wonder how RB suddenly seem to have no power deficit and can match us and Merc on the straights, in addition to their chassis being the best on the grid for the twisty bits. Next year will be interesting and possibly shocking!

Yep, that's Horner. He even threw Renault under the bus. He hates F1 politics and he does'nt hide it. He goes against the grain.

[AMuS] Ferrari are losing 0.4s against Mercedes and 0.9s against RB in the slow corners. Ferrari‘s advantage on the straights are 0.2s on Mercedes and 0.7s on RB. They are having the same problem as in Mexico due to going back to an old aerodynamic configuration

so in other words, WE'RE DOOMED.....good thing it's the last race of the season, thank GOD
now let the team fully concentrate on teh 2019 contender, as we're going to have our hands full with NOT only Merc, but also Red fools next season as Honda is making pretty good progress so far and who knows what kind of progress theyr're going to make come 2019
So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.

Apparently ferrari suffered on both HS and SS during long runs with tyre deg, worst from the top teams, supposedly they couldnt run the ultras as they did not bring enough to do race sim during FP2. temps and conditions in fp2 helped ferrari get more closer to Mercs & Rb which conditions should be similar in quali & race

Glad to see you are keeping your spirits high and don't draw conclusions after a Friday... Come on mate, we always kick it up a notch on Saturdays. We will be there fighting for the front row... I like how close things are now, even though we seem to lack a bit aero, it has never been so close between the top 3 teams.

So an US-SS 1 stoper to be the best strategy for the race? We should be able to qualify from Q2 with an US...

"The penalty of a Reprimand is consistent with penalties imposed for other similar incidents". Maybe other similar incidents for Hamilton, as they strapped Kimi with a 5 sec penalty last year in Baku for exactly the same thing.

“THERE IS STILL MORE TO COME FROM THE CAR”
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - “There is still some margin in the car”

Seb, Kimi looking for extra pace after P2 improvement

SEB (P8 in Session 1, best 1’40”453 on Hypersofts, P6 in Session 2, best 1’37”569 on Hypersofts)

“I think today has been ok; obviously we are not quick enough yet, but we did improve between the two sessions, track conditions came towards us and hopefully tomorrow we will be better placed and we’ll try to do our best. I think on Sunday a lot will depend on the tyres. We tried to work a bit on the car today and we still have some margin in terms of performance, but we need to find another extra bit of pace. However, I think we should be able to improve for the race. I was surprised by the fact that the tyres allow you a second attempt on a fast lap today. This is the last race of the season and I remain focused on this year. There’s still a few months to the beginning of a new Championship, so I think we can still learn something from the car we have now”.

KIMI (P7 in Session 1, best 1’40”417 on Hypersofts; P5 in Session 2, best 1’37”461 on Hypersofts)

“Today, the first session of free practice was a bit tricky in the hotter conditions. However, in the second session after sunset, we were able to improve our pace and the feeling with the car was pretty OK. Twilight conditions do not affect driving at all, only the tyres get a little bit cooler. If you look at the time sheet, you will see that everybody is pretty close, with six drivers within three tenths of a second, so we see where we can end up tomorrow”

i doubt it, pirelli said that the difference between hypers and US is way too big for TOP teams to take chances and try to quali on US in Q2

oh, and i was only kidding mate when i said that we're DOOMED.....it was just a bit of sarcasm....lol

Old configuration means the one used since Singapore till the race weekend before Austin? That configuration is bad on tyres and performance, if that's the case, Ferrari should switch back to the configuration which works, which got them the win in Austin.

hmmm i also wish they specified, i think they are running that austin one thats why we are still good on straightline pace but we are horrible in cornering. lol lets see if they made any changes to get maybe closer today. all the time loss is due to not being able to improve in cornering speeds since early in the year i guess. our race pace and tyre deg was bad, merc & rb had great race pace more so rb who went much longer and mercs running trick rims. If we found a better setup i dont think we can test it on any tyre besides HS now so we have to hope the improvements show both now and later when conditions are cooler
