'The Ferrari is looking good again. It just looks right on track. When it touches the kerb at the chicane it doesn’t double-bounce. The pickup on the throttle out of T13 is impressive, they can just put the power down so the traction is strong. It has all the things you need to make a car go quick.' - Gary Anderson on Autosport

He’s finally coming to realization that Ferrari is a real force and other teams should not be messing with us....
So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.

Lol indeed, build up competition just to knock them down, suddenly bottas is faster than anyone on c2 and almost matching leclerc on c3 but they keep spinning there story of underdogs , fuel levels and that aside ofcause

Matching leclerc on C3 because he was fuelled for the long runs while Bottas C2 time came on a 3 lap stint. Nothing that can be made from it. The only takeaway from the 4 days is that the SF90 has been born well and looks to have solid basics.

    From Sky’s livestream:

    Ferrari rivals sandbagging?
Representatives from Red Bull and Mercedes have independently said today that they believe Ferrari have an edge over the pack at the moment, so what do the Scuduria themselves think?

Charles Leclerc spoke to the press at lunch and reckons it's all a bit of a phoney war at the moment: "They are probably not pushing and we are not either."

He admits the new Ferrari feels good, but what exactly their rivals are up to remains unknown:

“It’s difficult because I’ve only driven the car twice and not many laps. But it feels good. The balance feels good. As Seb said, it doesn’t feel like a new car it already feels like it’s a quite established car.

"But the other teams are sandbagging, we need to see where they are."

the perfect mentality of not underestimating them and being caught out, especially since we know we know there history of taking sandbagging to new heights

"The Ferrari able to put half a tyre on the inside kerb at Campsa (T9) but it’s very stable. Others are having to give it a wide berth."

I don't recognise this Gary Anderson! Ferrari must be doing well!

16:13 Red Bull has been circulating with two extra struts connecting the central wing pillar to the mounting points further down. It seems as though the team's not confident about the strength of its rear wing, bolting on some extra support to keep it in place.

And here we were, thinking Red Bull GIVES you wings.

    ---

red bull triangle support structure looks like they removed it already

    -----

i believe prototype tyres are close to c3 tiny differences

The average differences between compounds D this season in Barcelona:
    C1 to C2:0.9
    "C2 to C3:0.7"
    C3 to C4:0.6
    "C4 to C5:0.6"
    via pirelli i believe

    ---

not exactly accurate because of unknown fuel levels but those are averages

    http://www.espn.com/f1/story/_/id/26...kest-final-day

But in terms of trying to understand the benchmark by which to judge the rest (in the context of Thursday, at least), the key man from the session was Charles Leclerc. The Ferrari driver set a 1:18.046 on the middle compound in Pirelli's range of five, otherwise known as the C3, but that becomes a 1:16.800 once corrected according to the differences in performance Pirelli estimates between the various tyres. Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton went quicker than Leclerc on the outright time, setting a 1:17.977, but set his on the C4 -- when his time is 'tyre corrected', he comes in at 1:17:300.

Not a bad time considering we haven't cranked up the engines yet!

That's impressive if we can believe Pirelli, and these testing days have given us hope that we're going in the right direction. Both drivers have done a great job and the number of laps without any apparent problems is encouraging.
