It's a 1:16.561 for Bottas as Mercedes bolt on the C5s for the first time today. That's three tenths down on Ferrari's best on that tyre from yesterday.

But a strong first lap on the quickest compound from the Finn, who will now hope to extract more performance and time before lunch.

Is warmer track faster or slower?

Generally slower. Pirelli's softest tyres operate at lower temperature, so lower track temperature often produces faster lap times.

That's why lap times during winter testing at Barcelona always faster than warmer race weekend.
