RB bringing update to this race because they want to be ahead of merc or Ferrari as early as possible. As reliability is a concern for them. Initially it was planned for China, but due to some reason they are brining it now.
we had similar conversation last year when ferrari didnt bring much or any upgrades after the silverstone that they kept on the car till the singapore ones, and after that merc had developed killer rim ideas and out developed us too and rb passed or caught us too by the end of the season.
Even when they didnt bring for awhile lots of people were saying surely ferrari will bring some new stuff for monza and they still didnt.

The only way they going to get merc or rb to crack to keep up in development against them, never give them a chance to slack and hopefully they'l develop in the wrong direction like ferrari did with its failure upgrades since singapore.

The team seem to build a good base line to start with every year but it just cant keep up in developing on it

As per the best possible outsider analysis, Ferrari leads Mercedes by 3 tenths on C3 tyre and 1.5 tenths on C2 tyre. New front wing which has quite a drastic effect on the rest of the car along with other updates they are bringing could propel Mercedes in front.

no doubt, but thats mercs tricks, they pretend ferrari is faster so that FIA keep checking ferrari whilst mercs are free to do whatever because it will make the sport better if competition is close

so far according to amus we arent bringing anything much so doesnt look like taking advantage of this FW concept, we should'v being pushing relentlessly on this concept so we have a buffer before merc can catch us again if they decide to change concepts, they already bringing new FW designs to melbourne

Copy the front wing "shape " is easy, make it work with the aerodynamics of the rest of the car,is something else.
Everybody where saying that they are 2 completely different aerodynamic projects that is very difficult to turn from the one to the other. Strange that they just brought o diffenet front wing??!!
    FERRARI FOR EVER !!!!!!!

Well they had a massive lead with their PU, pioneered the new wheel rim design and have their own innovations. Copying is always part of the game. Adrian Newey - the paddock's Aero GURU - copied Ferrari's wing mirror concept too. It's only normal.

The Mercs front wing copy of Ferrari's with the out-wash has been brought over to be used during FP so as they can evaluate on track it's effects then eventually they'll bring the full spec 2 (or 3 in this case) car with all the updates. I am more and more convinced the panic in the Mercedes box is for real... or at least they do believe we are ahead ;)

Nothing wrong with teams copying each other's working design. That's how it is since F1's early days.

F1 is all about how you keep ahead as the season progresses. With the new team boss in place, I'm hoping this is the year when we finally address our weakness, which has cost us 2-3 world titles.

I just can't believe that people still moaning about the upgrades in our car or the apparent lack of. That people clearly didn't follow F1 in the domenicalli era, when they kept sticking new parts to the car every weekend and everyone was a downgrade. I prefer to see a well developed car start to evolve in the right direction rather than see desperate moves like mercedes is doing. But I guess some people here doesn't learn and will keep moaning and spreading nonsense comments every time the others teams brings new part and we don't .

The Merc is a total different concept car, one that works with LOW rake, so they can’t just slap a copy of the Ferrari wing and expect it to work, they really must be desperate

Our concept aero car was developed with high rake, so if the Merc want this copy to work, won’t they have to do something about their LOW rake?

I really hope and wish they are in trouble and all this will blow in James Allison’s face as he was pretty much useless when he was at Ferrari.....LOL

And if INDEED Ferrari is ahead of the game from the first race, who says we need Adrian Newey, we,ve got super talented people in our team
So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.

It seems like they brought that FW just to evaluate it,rather than use it during the race.
As toto said earlier, they will use such upgrade or any B or C spec after 4-5 races. So they will use this FW now to evaluate & make it work by Spain GP or so

Yes, only 5 WDC and 5 WCC titles during the time when he was at Ferrari. Plus 2+2 at Renault.

there's new winglets on the side boards and even the rear diffuser looks tweaked. I posted earlier that we have a new turning-vanes concept too... Can't wait to see our baby at full power :)

Vettel: "Here [Melbourne] it is going to be close. I expect the Top 3 to be very close. Red Bull is still a question mark. With their big update, like they talk about it.
I wish for us to be close. As long as that is the case we are in a good position."

looking at all the drivers the only one that looks like a sour grape is hamilton but he is always in that mood when they have fan events so nothing new there, binotto, seb and leclerc seem in high spirits so thats nice, knowing the internal struggle from last year within the team might hopefully be behind

Apparently I exceeded my quota for uploads as I keep getting an error message but just to explain the vanes are right under the wheel arms, vertical grills in Raw Carbon Fibre sort of shark gills look

So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.

Best move we made was to get rid of Allison and put Binotto in charge.
