leclerc missed out only about 90 days of beating sebs record, hope ferrari work a plan on the start to block merc and not do stupid stuff like monza/china at the start

Careful counting your chickens before they hatch, after all pole doesn't mean victory and Max is just 0.8sec away.

All we can do is hope. Because judging by the race simulations yesterday it's a lot closer than the one-lap difference. Fingers crossed.

    Evening folks. Been a while.

Really happy for the team and our future. The cars a beaut, Charles was spectacular up until now. Youngest pole sitter, eh? Let's hope team secures it tomorrow.

Pole is one thing & race is other. I’m so happy Lec took the pole instead of vettel because no one rated Lec to adapt too quickly n take pole. Other end, mad max was eager to take the pole but couldn’t beat vettel’s record. It’s a ferrari driver who has done that ......
For now 1st blood is drawn.

Hamilton was the only non-Ferrari driver with a sub 28.0 in sector 1, he did 27.9. So Mercedes definitely no that slow in straight line.

    Vettel did 27.845, Leclerc 27.7

First time a driver from Monaco is on pole, let's hope he wins tomorrow with Seb his rear gunner.

Remember when Red Bull was faster than Ferrari. That sure lasted.
Our strategies better be on point in 2019.

    great quali!
I've learnt to read Hamilton's body language over the years and while he always tries to put on a "happy" face there are some things he can't hide. He looks somewhat worried compared to when he knows Merc is in complete control. It's a look here and there and some body moves. I think he knows this season might be closer than last year. Merc themselves are closer here than last year but Hamilton is thinking about the complete season and both packages.
