Vettel is currently P2 +.027 to Bottas on the same rubber. In Free Practice 2. With half an hour to go. With one more practice session left. And Hamilton in 4th. And Hulkenberg and Sainz ahead of Charles. The only thing one can glean currently is that there are racing cars on a track in Shanghai.

Well atleast our long run pace is looking handy, Vettel is faster than both Merc and Max, by quite a big margin.

Look at last race. We were nearly a second ahead all weekend. Until Q3. The Mercedes Party Mode is worth a half second a lap.

Looks like a bouncing back weekend for Seb so far, that Bahrein test seem to have really helped him. The new CE though... Does not look bulletproof. With only 2 of them available for a season this is some what disturbing.

Major coolant leak on Leclercs car.
It's not how start but how you finish.

Yeah, had this been FP3 into quali then it would've looked "chaotic".

    Not that simple.
It's not like they where running the exactly same set -ups engine modes and drivers pushing exactly the same on FPS ,To just compare their time margin to Q3!!

I don't disagree that Merc are the ultimate sandbaggers.

Yes, their party mode creates issue in most qualifying sessions. Last time in Bahrain, the smallest gap was in Q3, need to work on that Q3 mode to bring it closer to Merc level.

i mean it won't be a big deal here, or at most tracks, with the combination of our 'stock' horsepower advantage and drs.

It's a bit anxious reading the feedback!!!
Tifosi tell us very good race sim lap times ,and f412 comes to ruin it saying that commentators say we are slower?????!!!!!! I now both of them are telling what they are seeing/hearing, but WHATS GOING ON??!! Witch is the "real" picture??!!

We are slower because we have not won it this year. So we must be slower. Dont believe this hype from last year that we are the faster ones. It is a bull ****.

Mercedes brought a new front wing to Shanghai and have to either modify it or they can't use it. The new front wing does not comply with the regulations in the area of the end plates.

Well Bottas did shorter stint on softs, also with few back to back cool down laps which I am sure was excluded by the commentators. Vettel on the other hand did more laps onsofts with just one cooldown lap...so obviously his stint average looks worse than Bottas's.

But I don't think we should get too excited by Friday long runs. They aren't the actual representation of Sunday's race pace.
