Yep at this point I want to see a bloodbath with Ferrari winning by 30 seconds in every race...

Not going to happen mind you, but it would be nice...

Honda are bringing upgraded PU to Baku, but still having RB on Pole is a long shot

Do you people think Ferrari have a chance of overhauling Mercedes in the points table or is the gap already too large to do?

Let me guess with Vettel? And then you woke up, right?
It’s gonna be hard to beat the mercs, even if we have a bit of straighline advantage over them; there are quite a few slow corners (and if we haven’t fixed or addressed those issues with our car), then we’re gonna lose all that time we gained on the straights

God forbid for another Merc 1-2....that’s gonna pretty much be the (I know still a bit too early in the season to say this) nail in the cauffin for us....but let’s hope ferrari will have a say in this and come out of the woods with updates on the car that really fix our current issues
So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.

At this point, I think anything's possible. I don't think it's too likely, but Ferrari did have the pace in Bahrain, so there's something there...

we only had the pace in bahrain as that track is kind of a high speed track with NOT too many slow corners; that's WHY ferrari looked good in comparison to Merc....because ferrari is good at high speed stuff

let's NOT kid ourselves...if we want to WIN either of the two championships or BOTH (that would be much better), Ferrari has to fix its achilles heel which is slow to medium corner pace/speed.....that's where the Mers excels....

I know exactly why Ferrari looked good and I'm not kidding myself. I'm hoping that they quickly figure out how to sort the car out and that this week's upgrades help. A few more poor showings and this season is over.

Yep, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out....

I hope everyone has calmned down after the chinese GP, especially you Greig. Are you OK? I hope so. We, tifosi, must stick together.

You know why I know the SF90 is a very competitve package? More competitive than what we have created the last few years (or decade)? When Seb made his mistake in Bahrain against Lewis he damaged the car even without touching anything. When he got going again the vibrations done by the spin damaged the front wing and it disintegrated underneath. Why did that happen? Because the SF90's suspension is ultra stiff. That's what the design is built upon. This car will be great on smooth ultra fast circuits if only the mechanical realiability gives it a chance, and obviosuly if the drivers and their driving does the same. Will it be enough to really challenge Merc, I don't know. But what I do know is that we (Ferrari) will bring the fight closer to Merc than ever before these last few years.

As for the drivers. Some months ago I posted an analogy that an F1 team is like an american football team. I described how Binotto is our star and maybe where he is put is not optimal. Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong. But besides that our drivers are like the punter and long-snapper. The drivers are the last line of defense. They can only pin down the opposition deep down in their own territory. The package that is brought to any circuit is out of their control. They can only punt that damn football on 4th and inches the best way they can. That's what they can do on any given sunday. So again, please support them because they both have a limited possibility to really make a difference.

If we really want to become world champions again we, tifosi, should focus on the real issues at hand. How do we do that without jumping at each others throats?

It feels like this race should be a walkover for Ferrari, but the same was true for Bahrain and that ended up with a technical issue and driver error costing us. Whatever upgrade has been brought, I hope it addresses cornering performance. The numbers from China qualifying indicate that Ferrari were over 10 km/h slower through many corners than Mercedes. That's not championship winning performance.

The problem is with Ferrari fans is that no body has any confidence in saying it will be a Ferrari win in Baku we are so used to playing 2nd fiddle to mercedes that disappointment is the norm it's like a dress rehursle mercedes 1 and 2 Ferrari 3rd 5th the tide has to change because a predictable journey is a tiring and boring one.

After seeing first 3 races, it’s better to limit ourselves about the possible results.
If anything exceeded beyond that, then it’s a good weekend.

First & foremost thing is to address the weakness of the car (slow in corners) then we can think of reducing the points gap to mercs. We need luck too. As at times when ferrari had bad weekend mercs did capitalise on it, but when mercs had the opposite we were not there to take it.

Its still early days. Long season ahead. We can win both titles.
Both Car AND the drivers are good enough for it. Just need to string it together, something we have struggled with off late. And also we need lady luck to intervene at some point. Just a little bit.

And remember that the extra high-tyre pressures which always suit the Mercedes also have to taken into account. Pirelli get your act together and lower the minimum tyre pressures, so the teams can find more performance in the tyres, not sliding around like crazy in traction zones. Not having the tyres at optimum temperature will cost you the most in slow speed corners (beside suspension, downforce levels can definitely play the part), and this is what I think happened to us, and look at Haas, same think. Its always the tyres. Bring back Michelin, and even Bridgestone was good.

    First re: Renaults MGU-K issue:

[AMuS] Damaged Renault MGU-K that led to Hulkenbergs DNF at Shanghai has been repaired & can be used again at Baku. Grid penalty avoided!

    also

Both Alfa Romeo drivers will fit new control electronics (CE) for the BakuGP. As Antonio Giovinazzi is already using the 3rd CE this season it results in a 10 place grid penalty.

That ferrari rear wing is like a “barn door” compared to the others
Hope ferrari knows what they’re doing with it and that we’re nOT gonna lose our top speed advantage that much
So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.

    New diffuser, bargeboards, floor, RW

So it should be updated version ...!!

Looking at the RW on ferrari, very big compared to other cars. Shows ferrari lacking DF & thanks to that strong PU else would have been horrible. Let’s c how it goes....

The image of the diff in ferrari rear wing compared to Merc says it all, ferrari using a lot more wing for downforce and having a powerful DRS whilst Merc just looking for straight line speed as they already have plenty of downforce

We’ll see who comes out on top
