    Baku 2019: Race

    news:

-Liberty bans Nico Rosberg. He gave his VIP pass to his cameraman which is a no-no with FOM.

-Kubica will start in the pit-lane

-Gasly/STR has been slapped with a fuel flow infringement. Still starting in the pit lane.

-Kimi's C38 front wing has failed a deflection test. No word yet if starting in the pit lane.

Man this circuit has quite the drama.
It's not how start but how you finish.

Charles starting 8th? hopefully up behind the Mercs within 10 laps, possible to still win here.

Great news to wake up to. At least he put in a good time for Q2 and didn't crash in Q1. Here's to a fast and clean start.

If Charles really is in a position to win.... no matter Wtever it is team will go for it & support him.
    Even vettel will realise that.

Also race is not yet started, can’t say vettel couldn’t pass mercs. It’s a crazy track anything can happen.
Pole sitter never won the race here.

Based on his pace & position, there is every chance of merc reaction.
So it down to Leclerc how soon he can catch the top2. Merc might bank on mad max, who can block Leclerc for sometime.

Australian GP was won by driver who started in P2.

Bahrain GP was won by driver who started P3.

China GP was won by driver who started P2.

Hopefully Baku GP is won by driver who started P3.

We've all had our fair share of disappointment so far this season, so my expectations are low, but best of luck to Seb and Charles, it can't always be Merc who have a trouble-free race but being up front makes all the difference, damn it. And now both Alfas hobbled at the back of the field too, lady luck doesn't seem to favour Italian teams!

Charles Leclerc is allowed to use 4 new medium tyres for the start of the race. Ferrari successfully argued that all 4 tyres have been flatspotted during the crash in qualifying.

Yep, keeping my expectations in check for the rest of the season. I would love to see Ferrari give Mercs a tough time this season.

#BakuGP strategy: A one-stopper is the clear choice for this 51-lap race: either going from soft to medium or medium to soft (which makes little difference). If starting on the soft, the best option is to stop on lap 25; if starting on the medium it’s best to stop on lap 26.

Lec starting on new medium tyres... cold tyres with no grip. Might be vulnerable at the start...!!

No further action ... final grid stays as it is. Only 3 cars will start from pit lane.

Anyone else see the grin on Paul Di Resta's face when they were interviewing Stroll's father? The looked screamed "your kid's a joke."

Bonus Question: Which lap will Grosjean run into the wall behind the safety car?
