I'm not expecting much today. Bottas will let ham pass within 2 laps and then he'll hold up everyone else. Max will be strong but I hope Charles can get a podium but it's gonna be another painful race for a Ferrari fan to watch. :(

If the track stays cool (or becomes cooler), Ferrari will be the car to beat. Hopefully the rain washes away a little rubber off the track as well.. The only reason why Merc took pole was because in Q3 the temperature & grip increased and their car suddenly came alive.

"It's good, it came as a little bit of a surprise because we were on the back foot throughout the qualifying session and expected Ferrari to be strong," Wolff told Sky Sports F1's Ted Kravitz afterwards.

"But finally in Q3 they went backwards and we went forwards," he added. "The grip ramped up, the whole car heated up, and I think that made the whole thing come towards us."

Yeah I think I'll time my bike ride with the race this time and then watch a delayed stream fast-forward.

The best thing anyone can do is to not watch the races live so long as the maFIA are cheating us. Audience figures down the drain is the only thing that can salvage this "sport". My hope is for Charles to get a podium and Hamilton to DNF or have a non-podium Austria-esque meltdown in front of his plastic fans, that's more than enough for me today.

Pirelli suggest Leclerc's 'audacious' British GP strategy could work

Ferrari's decision to start on soft tyres could pay off according to Pirelli, as they laid out the strategy options for the British Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc made the interesting move to switch approaches during Q2 on Saturday, initially following Mercedes and Red Bull on mediums before going faster on the red-striped compound.

And as he prepares to start third on the grid, behind Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton, it could give an advantage he is keen to capitalise on.

"We did an audacious choice of tyre for the start, softer than our opponents," the Monegasque told Sky Sports. "I will give it everything and hopefully gain some positions in the first few corners.

"Seeing the race simulations I don't think there's much difference between the two tyres. I don't think it's night and day, to be honest.

"If we can overtake them at the start, we might have a chance."

During Friday practice, Mercedes had appeared the clear leaders over a long run but Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto explained the call to start on softs was to "add in another variable".

"We are well aware this will be a long race during which tyre wear will be a factor for everyone, but our hope is that we have found the right set-up to also allow us to go well over a long stint," he added.

It is possible that by starting on the mediums, Mercedes and Red Bull could opt to one-stop by switching to the hard tyre, but because of the short pit-lane, Pirelli doesn't think it would work.

"The quickest strategy for the 52-lap race is a two-stopper, with a one-stopper practically ruled out," they said in a series of tweets.

"Best two-stopper goes like this: start on the soft, after 13 laps take a new set of softs for another 13-lap stint and finally hard to the finish.

"For those starting on medium, first stint on the medium for 15 laps, change to the soft for 13 laps, and finally hard to the end."

Personally, I'd prefer soft 15, medium 18 and medium 19. It's going to be cool asphalt temps anyway, so why not roll the dice? We've got no championship to think of, just to pull a P2 here would be phenomenal.

Soft 15, soft 15, medium 22 would probably also work just fine.

Do we have spare fresh softs for each car?

Mediums heavy deg on this track with low drag car. S-S-H is good one.
But I’m worried about our Hard tyre race pace, this where ferrari lack.

Lec has 1new set of Medium & 1 soft
Vettel has only 1set of Medium.

    Correct me if I’m wrong.

All the best to both our drivers...!! Start would be the key, if Lec can get bottas & Ham at start then it’s game on.

    Hope they come out clean.
