Well it looks like a quite bad 1st day of testing.
The only thing we can do ,is to hope that the season will also be the complete opposite then last year !!!!

Another comment to note from this mornings session:

10.25: Already lots of intrigue around the new cars on show. Renault is running a super slim nose, which looks great, while the Racing Point car looks like a 2019 Mercedes painted pink.

Sergio Perez was only 0.062 off of Bottas pace. Merc throwing a buffer between them and Ferrari/RB? I guess having one butler isn’t enough security LOL

To add to my earlier post, teams have already complained of Racing Points exact copy of Mercs W10.

In terms of look Renault nose is the most sexiest one! It reminds me of early 90's F1 cars.

Last year we topped the day 1 session while mercs finished 2 seconds behind us. perhaps we have changed our running program this year.

i have to agree...it does look pretty pleasing.....our nose is so....outdated, carbon copy of 2019 just bigger nostrils

So think about it this way for those who follow Basketball. For Russell/Lando, etc, Lewis is their Michael. He is their Ayrton.
Similar to how current NBA players talk of Kobe being their Jordan.

It's who they witnessed live, just as we watched Ayrton and Michael's excellence. It makes sense. Doesn't mean it's right though :P

Impressions after 3 hours of testing this morning:

Mercedes looks great but maybe a bit worse on tyres than last year, they're fairly light IMO, same goes for RBR who looks light.

Ferrari looks heavy with fuel and only doing short runs so nothing major.

Looks like Lawerence Stroll went to Mercedes with his fat check book and bought as much of the W10 as he could.

Ferrari will bring a B spec car next week. With the current spec, it will be fighting W10 and McLaren.

US, diehard fans can only wish, right???

or maybe this car as it sits if super fast, it's just that we're running with full tanks all the time....we know nothing, we're jsut speculating

It’s a good possibility. Ferrari could be using this week to test PU and other things...next week B Spec with updated aero. Let’s hold of judgment and the doom and gloom for now. I like that Ferrari is quiet this year.

Hamilton went quickest with a 1.16.976 on the C2 Tyre, and was at the start of a 14 lap stint! Mercedes doesn't go for glory runs either, after all they are the sandbaggers in chief. People are also reporting their car looks very good on track. Hamilton also went purple in first 2 sectors by a good margin and then backed off in Sector 3. It's all sunny and rosy in the Mercedes garage.

2020 season is done and dusted.
