I was still hoping for a BiG bluff from Ferrari all this time, playing it all down and then come quali and race, boom come out on top....but after watching the car on track in FP2....,man we’re really that slow....we must have a Vespa engine in there....

Well...I think the current SF1000 still an upgrade over last years SF90. Nearly 9-11 kph down on the straights, but much faster through the corners.
I also think tomorrow will be better, no pole position, but closer to Mercedes.

There is no way we are that far down on top speed guys. There is more pace in that package to come.

Well I too was thinking the same, but ever since ou wings got clipped last year due to the tricks we were cheating with in Qualy by tricking the fuel flow sensor....ever since the FIA added extra sensors, all of a sudden our top speed which we used to be KING at.....well it disappeared

Yeah, but there is no way we have a slower top speed than Alfa.

Funny how you call this cheating while it's merely exploiting a loop hole, what's even funnier is that you cry when Ferrari is not pushing the the rules enough for you !

Hey it's 2020 the year of weird things what do i know !!!!!

Don't be so sure. Williams used to have the best top speed till 2016. Force India was pretty handy too.

I see more speed in the corners. That's not bad.

Binotto has also revealed that Ferrari hasn't upgraded its 2020 power unit since Melbourne in March.

"We've got the same engine we had at the time in Australia," he said. "We shut down the factory for a long time, so there was very little time to develop. We didn't bring anything different. Now the power unit is frozen for the season.

"I know that other manufacturers had the opportunity to continue working and developing. We were aware of that, they took advantage, that's part of the game. That's part of all the entire compromises we have accepted during the shutdown period, looking ahead for the good of the sport."

Did we run the soft tyres in FP1/2, I only saw some of it and we appeared to be on the mediums, can anyone clarify....grazie. Whatever the reason, we are just not quick enough, as expected.

Yes, the fastest times were on the softs in FP2. They did not run soft to my knowledge in FP1.

This is expected .... everytime they release the car & say “hope this year we can be competitive”
But when on track it’s different “we need to understand the car”....

Thanks ferras, I got a bit confused with the hards and mediums, I only saw Seb running on hards and didn't see Charles at all, but had to miss most of the coverage. 10-12th in FP1 and 4-9th in FP2 is not as bad as I'd feared but still far from encouraging.

Vettel: I did not celebrate my birthday, I went to bed early last night so that I am fit for today. It was a productive day, no problems. Regarding the speed we are a bit behind, it‘s very close. We're somewhere in the chasing pack/midfield. Tomorrow will be a big day.

The track is short so the gap among teams is smaller, few tenths will separate many teams but I expect Vettel and Leclerc to edge out the Racing Points.

Vettel: Mercedes are in their own league, Red Bull is difficult to understand at the moment, I don't think they showed everything. Racing Point is a surprise, also the consistency & then the group with us, McLaren, Renault will be interesting in qualifying where everyone will be.
So Vet place us 4th to 6th !!!!
