I guess you weren't around in 1980 when Gilles ended 14th, Jody 19th and Ferrari 9th in the championship (beating only Alfa Romeo).
    That was a bad year...

But the engine is lacking pick power, which is going to be quite painful during qualifying, no so much during race day.
So we have decent performance on heavy fuel load on medium and as Leclerc showed last week decent performance on light fuel load in race trim.

He has tended to start seasons a bit slow so I suspect he will be back.

    I prefer Suck-Fest Ferrari

Yea, but he is the leader Ferrari deserves.

Too much time pandering and keeling to concentrate on racing.

But it's not the 80's. Back in those days, any private team with good financial backing could win the champinoship. But that's no longer the case today.
Money dominates current F1, and Ferrari is one of the richest, if not the richest team in F1. There's no excuse for battling with Mclaren or Tracing point, teams with half the budget, resources and workforce compared to Ferrari.

yep, sure feels that way.....Ferrari was in a 20 YEAR drought....until year 2000.

This could be the starting grid as it stands. Rain might disqualify FP3 and qualifying tomorrow.

Looks like the SF 1000 has caught the covid virus because it looks pretty sick to me, must be placed in isolation immediately.

I think Max might win this one. Not sure Bottas can win back to back, and Ham is a bit slow.

I'm still going to wait until Q2, before writing off the new upgrades completely. I refuse to believe that, the new package made the car 1 second slower on qualy sim but 6-7 tenths (even more)/lap faster on race sim.

Of course we are not going lock out the front row, but we are not going to be P9 and P16 either.

Any race sim comparison data you have ? 6-7 tenths/lap is a huge leap in race sim.

He still probably does, but sadly even if he would be full time in the Scuderia, it would not change how down on power is our egngine.

Vettel says the car feels lot better and he hopes it stays this way. He says he can't even compare it to last week because the difference is huge.

Wow, haven’t watched FP2..but that looks painful....hues it’s fair to say that even the Honda engine is better than our DONKEY this season.....total embarrassment from.....Enzo is prolly rolling in his grave seeing how bad an engine Ferrari have built....especially going by his saying “aerodynamics are for people who can’t built engines”.....well it seems that NOT only we can’t build a solid engine, but we can’t even have a decent aero either.....lol

    Leclerc (today, mediums)

    1m09.456
    1m09.585
    1m09.407
    1m09.520
    1m09.511
    1m09.792
    1m09.557
    1m09.547

    Leclerc (1st Austrian GP, softs)

    1m09.925
    1m10.271
    1m10.310
    1m10.287
    1m10.596
    1m10.611
    1m10.511
    1m10.460
    etc

Of course, we don't know the actual fuel load of today's race sim, and I'm not including race sim from July 3 practice, since the track was more than 22C cooler, so entirely different condition. But still, it looks promising. And according to Vettel, the current car feels completely different than what they had a weeks ago, so another positive sign.

Also Leclerc: “I think we found a few things on high fuel towards the end of the day, the last run especially, so this is positive, let’s see whether tomorrow, or after tomorrow depending on the weather, if we are able to gain the lap time we gained on high fuel also on low fuel.”

So clearly happy with his long run pace.
