For me ,it doesnt look SOO possitive!! I mean only Vettel was quite upbeat but ,as i said before, he was just compairing to the last Sunday race car witch had a lot of problems and was almost undrivable!!!! So a good car for Vet might be a car like Leclerc's last Sunday's !!!!!
And Leclerc on the other hand was not so ethusiastic!!!! It was more like the updates didn't give us anything special, but we don't want to admit it yet !!!!!

    etc

Of course, we don't know the actual fuel load of today's race sim, and I'm not including race sim from July 3 practice, since the track was more than 22C cooler, so entirely different condition. But still, it looks promising. And according to Vettel, the current car feels completely different than what they had a weeks ago, so another positive sign.

Also Leclerc: “I think we found a few things on high fuel towards the end of the day, the last run especially, so this is positive, let’s see whether tomorrow, or after tomorrow depending on the weather, if we are able to gain the lap time we gained on high fuel also on low fuel.”

So clearly happy with his long run pace.
So is he saying the things they found were from the new parts or just fine tuning the overall package?

We're definitely not fighting the fizzy drink company yet, but I don't think we can tell anything from today's sessions as viewers.

The lap times you put up there look like they are giving a 3 tenth improvement which was our best case going into this weekend.

To be fair bringing a few updates was forced on the team by the big boss. Binotto likes to line his ducks up like last year withholding updates until ready. Forcing a few of these updates through this weekend is kicking the can down the road just for political posturing something is being done. If Hungary upgrade was a whole new direction how can mixing a few of the upgrades with the current concept work? It's like having a Merc clone for Hungary but only having a few parts of that on the car this weekend. It simply will not work.

SF90 had the banned engine that gained 1 second a lap on the straights. SF1000 is a much better chassis but castrated engine loses 0.7 on the straights, that's a 1.7 second swing. With the banned engine the SF1000 would be on pole by 0.8 seconds based on last weekends qualifying.

They said that they did it because it was an apportunity to evaluate the new pieces in the same track they race with the old ones just a week ago. Its the 1st time teams can do such thing.

On the other hand , according to F1AT, we where on low engine modes on our soft laps and that we are sure that tomorrow sessions will go as planed so they save a lot of soft tires.
also our long runs where quite good!!

The negeative rhetoric that is communicated to Ferrari by commentators and other team principles for the current performance level of the SF 1000 is deserved Ferrari have only them selves to blame for this lousy situation.Binottos tenure is under pressure his glasses are fogging up all the time.Camelleri will show him the door with vettal come seasons end, they can hold hands on the way out.The negativity might spur Ferrari on.One must ask how does a billion dollar organisation get it so so wrong, when teams with a fraction are really having a genuine crack.

Because they are never given time to build. TP at Ferrari is a poisoned challace, if u cannot win fans demand it instantaneously. Would hate to lose Binotto, he was great on engine and on chassis when put in charge. He inherited a situation from previous regimes and last year was 1st time in a decade Ferrari improved as the year went on, remember Singapoure aero upgrade. Fire him like Allison and Da Costa and weep when he goes to Merc and looks like a genious. Fans need to calm down and give him time. Remember an old TP joined in 93 took 7 years to win a constructors and 8 years for drivers....Jean Todt? Merc built year on year from 2010, took their 5th season until they won. Ferrari problem is expecting titles without any foundations.

Completely agree. Let's not expend all our talent. Ex Ferrari men are on of the reasons Mercs are so strong.

Definatly we dont want to lose Binotto. I actually supported him and I think he was excellent TD. But since last year that he is TP also ,he seems like he lost something. We need a man strong enough and smart enough ,as TP, to handle all the matters with FIA and making agreements that suit us !!! And right now it looks like Binnoto cant handle it !!!!

    My version too....

Look at RB & Toto. They talk a lot even though it’s nonsense. But they are making their mark.
Mattia is calm going person, at lest he should fight for the benefits of Ferrari with FIA etc.

My personal opinion is that Ferrari has thus fallen in shape or. rather it is late with upgrades: 1. covid-19 when the ferrari had it actually closed the English teams were working (fia ???) 2. fia by installing sensors on the engine new rules...

So quali on Sunday morning? There’s no official confirmation yet.
I think it will be tight schedule between F2 & F3 race.

If they can’t fit in a schedule then FP2 timings will be considered as grid positions for the race.

Mercs car mighty in wet Conditions & with ham. It will be even more.
Bottas is not good under these conditions. It will be a setback for him if it’s wet quali.

It's still very wet there in Austria.

The helicopter can't fly atm either so it's looking like Qualifying will be postponed until tomorrow.

The rain has stopped a while ago. The condition is improving. So nothing stopping the medical helicopter from flying.
