Bahrain Grand Prix 2020 Sakhir - Practices and Qualifying

It was raining earlier but it seems to be drying out.
It's not how start but how you finish.

Leclerc is struggling, looks like setup issue than circuit issue.

Leclerc was just 0.8 seconds down from the Mercedes when he had to abort the lap. I think if he were to continue that lap, he would've easily been P8 or P9. It's sad how much the standard has fallen for us.

Green track and FP1 doesn't mean much. The track is going to evolve a lot until tomorrow evening. Mainly, it's going to be about getting the front tyres to last. If we can, still a good chance to be P4/P5 on Sunday with Leclerc.

As much as that of what you’re saying is very true....so if we improve so will the others...so in the end there’s still gonna be that performance differentiator between US and others....so more or less we’ll be in the same boat, NO?

Oh that’s bad.....that’s totally bad.....I mean we know the mercs are in their own world....but it’d be nice if we could be the top of the midfield..... cant believe I’m sayin this... but with the weak donkey our drivers got strapped at the back, they can only do so much

Worrying indeed, even on softs we're nowhere. Hopefully tomorrow will be better otherwise we can say goodbye to any chance of Charles getting P4 in the WDC or Ferrari even holding on to P6 in the WCC, those Alpha Tauris are still a threat.

This is not 18th century! No superstition! Nothing to do with who or what is where and when, simply bad car!

OK ! But... last race Seb on pole Charles 4th. with same bad cars. The only thing changed was Binotto stood home. He now shows up and were back to 12, 14 . OK It's only practice , lets hope for the best quali. and the race.

Vettel is where I expected him to be, but Leclerc is the question mark: in reality he should be 0.4 seconds ahead of his team mate or so. If he makes that step overnight, then he'll be alright.

    Seb was on pole?

Track is completely different it's an engine track Ferraris engine is by far the worst this year, have done well improving the chassis but cannot change engine this year so car will be rubbish at power tracks. Next week will be worse. Not long to go now until this rubbish year is over.

Perez / RIC have good chance. Given the tracks/ races left.

P4 ??? Are you serious ? On this track?
It should be with some heavy luck to expect such result. We are down on engine power . There are 2 sectors which are power dependent.

These negative Ferrari posts can cause a fan to drink! I already posted Seb on pole not podium last race. This coming race Ferrari 3,4 or I'll settle for a 4,5. Keep fighting even if there's only the slightest chance!

The average speed of Bahrain is lower than the F1 average and is brutal on tyre wear because of all the changes of direction at a dusty track. It all depends on how well we get the tyres to last and the car to turn in race trim. S2 is super important on high fuel because it's hard to get the car to turn. The issue is just that so far Charles has been slower than I expected him to be, whereas Seb has been right where he would need to be for the other car to have the potential for a top six or better finish.

After all, you didn't see Seb being anywhere near the top 10 at the real power tracks. Charles gave us top sixes at Sochi and Imola and two finishes inside the top four at Silverstone, which are at least just as demanding in terms of engine capacity as Bahrain.

Charles sadly seems lost in terms of how to maximize the car this weekend after outperforming it so many other times. At least, if we could get the cars P11/P12 and start on the mediums and then long-stint as the others have their softs fall off the cliff as usually happens in Bahrain we can salvage something. Q3 is definitely not the holy grail on a track like this.

Giovinazzi ahead of Leclerc, just shows how awful the current aero is. Bad engine did wonders, at least they will now focus on creating a proper car. This car is surely among the worst cars of all time. Some were even praising this aero as the second best aero after mercedes. Maybe they meant second best aero from last.

two contrasting post. One with P4/P5 & other P11/P12.
You are taking leclerc performance as the barrier but never considered car/engine/aero. Which is why I said are you serious of P4. To me Ferrari if they gets into points finish, I’m happy.
