I think we have a shot at a podium.

As for what happens between Lewis and Max, i think Merc has pulled out the stops now. But I don't really care, I just hope both teams have fun.

This NEW track looks fast and narrow.

Hoping for a safe FP, qualifying and race....without any RED FLAGS.

    Jeddah circuit reminds of Macau.

Not sure we have the power to help us on this fast and wavy track, but we'll see, also those walls look a bit scary. Fingers crossed for a safe weekend for all.

I hope there are no heavy crashes.

Since the track is SO narrow, a heavy crash here would be bad.

    *Especially looking at HAAS.

Things I would rather watch than another boring street circuit.

Not much going on....just Brundle having another Hamfest, gushing over his every move.

Ferrari seem to have decent pace, dangerous looking track as far as visibility is concerned.

Maybe the Alpha Tauris have got the latest Red Bull engine/chassis developments as their one lap pace is so good, Alpine have also improved in recent weeks, it's all a bit of a mystery so late in the season. As for Ferrari and Mclaren, it's too close for my liking and once again Carlos bettering Charles in FP1, Carlos supposedly has great feedback but at what cost to the way Charles likes his car to handle? Hope there are no big crashes, though.

Session red flagged, Charles walked away at least! Hope is is ok and that they can repair his car in time. This is a dangerous circuit.

Oh dear, I spoke too soon, glad Charles is OK but that circuit is dangerous at those speeds, looks horribly narrow in parts and unsighted. Typical that it had to be Charles again, he's trying so hard.

Love the speed, blind corners and narrow track, it's scary just watching on tv like tracks of decades ago. Quali and practices will be most dangerous due to people cruising around, in the race when everyone's on it should be less of an issue.

This race should be cancelled for the safety alone. You get a puncture in one of those blind turns and it's Hubert all over again. Terrifying circuit.

A fast, dangerous and very claustrophobic circuit:( Happy Charles is okay and that he can race for a few points if the car
can be brought back to run?

Update: Charles is okay and the car is also okay, no damage to chassis and engine. Car will be on track again tomorrow.

Just like its human rights issues, and the country in general the track is a dangerous reflection of its self. I expect carnage come race day .

    AMuS

Mercedes and Red Bull were driving with older PUs today. Mercedes had the impression that RB primarily focused on quali. Overtaking seems to be difficult, so maybe that‘s why RB focused on their quali laps rather than longruns.

Just as South Africa was shunned in the '70s/'80s over apartheid, sport should do the same with countries that abuse human rights on an industrial scale. But then high-level professional sport (F1 in particular) has no moral compass at all. Lots of mealy mouthed platitudes from the likes of HAM and VET but they go there and simply heap prestige upon these awful places! China, Qatar, KSA. Russia too and even Azerbaijan - as corrupt as they come!
    Trying to be less angry..

That was close between Mazepin and Lewis (driving slowly) around the corner on this high speed track.

    Lewis's pitbox warned him late.

    Also Lewis with Gasly.
