It was happening yesterday on Checo's car also.

I'm saying the exponential increase in performance from the Mercedes isn't normal given they haven't upgraded the car since Silverstone. At Monza the McLaren's were keeping the Mercs at bay, something isn't right.

Merc cheating their way to another title.
Seriously if nothing changes in 2022, I'm done with this so-called "sport".

Well, since Merc spent 3 years prior to the hybrid era developing that engine while Ferrari and Red Bull where duking it out on track for championships, they lost a few years work compared to Merc. If then include all the tokens and freezes during the start of the Mercedes engine era, it made it really difficult to catch up. Catching Mercedes massive headstart would not require Ferrari or Red Bull to go even with Mercedes, they would need to outdevelop Mercedes by a huge margin to get back to level terms. I dont see how any team could have outclassed Mercedes and get up to their level considering Merc never stands still. The initial Mercedes advantage was way too big, and we have not even seen what they had left in the tank, they were obviously not pushing their engines until this season.

Yep. We are in the Mercedes Engine era folks, the engine advantage lead taken in 2014 will end in 2024, better luck then for the other teams! Merc got plenty in the bag when needed as shown repeatedly. I have zero hopes for next season, at best some team could maybe be threatening them a bit, but as long as its the same engines, Merc will not be beaten.

Im not sure 100% of this. There are sometimes that it look like this BUT im not conviced . What i mean is that this year till 4!!! laps from the end looked like RedBull had the upper hand. Only when they introduce the 5th new spec engine on Lewis where able to demostrate that superior performance !!! Well to me this isnt a well planed scenario, because simply its too late in the season . All the other years we saw A weak Merc in just 1,2 max 3 races. And if for a reason another team could take an advantage in the 1st part of a season ,Merc managed to turns things around in the early 2nd part. You cant play with unexpected factors (some accident ) and wait till 3-4 races from the end toi demonstrate your superiority ,if you had it beforehand!!!! I trully believe that what we saw this year was more or less geniun.Till last race RBR had the upper hand. Now what happend with this 5th superengine on Ham,well i dont think we will ever learn. Its just smells like our "super engine" of '19 !!!

Charles said over the radio he doesn't know where he can make the time up. I get the impression Sainz smoother driving style is beneficial round here.

Some drivers seem like they just can't hook it up round here, even on softer tyres...Charles, Checo, Danny Ric..

Come on Carlos! I think we can get P4 here

Not sure Charles Lec is comfortable with the set up. Off late in quali he’s not up to his mark.
Where as Sainz is getting better & better. May be driving style.

I am surprised by Alpine's pace. A team that was no where near us is all of a sudden a lot faster. This track is strange.

Sainz is 3 tenths faster in the first sector alone. I think Charles was struggling with the front tyre temperature issue.

Gasly has been impressive and consistent these last 3 years. Unfortunate he's not getting a top seat next year with whomever-->Mercedes, Ferrari, RedBull or Mclaren.
